some of my takeaways - arpeggiating in 10ths (3rds) through seventh chords - flat 6 triad -> flat 5 triad both played over maj3+flat 7. then resolve to 1. can also move through different inversions (very cool, need to think about that more - that descending line sounds so nice) - in dorian, moving in seventh chords 1 2 3 4 3 2 1 sounds wonderful - can combine arpeggiating in 10th/3rds with moving through the scale - i also realized 2-5-1 moves through the circle of fifths while watching this video (pretty new to harmony haha) - feel like i saw a lot of 7ths as the lowest note, want to keep that in mind also super great video! extremely clear presentation and clean camera work and editing.

As a beginner I was proud learned elementary major, dominants, sevenths key of C! Found out about other keys and now this….your playing of Evans style is inspiring but need a lot of work just on the chords..like him with Tony Bennett….thanks😊

It's a very special talent you have there. It requires a talent for complex shapes and even more complex musical chromatic shapes and I wish I hadn't got lost when you moved out of C major! Very few people can think with this kind of complexity and they are as scarce as the Bill Evans's of this world. Actually I think Bill was of another world.

There was a time, back in the Fifties and Sixties, when Toronto was a jazz town. Downbeat had a section on Toronto every issue -- and on consecutive weeks I sat down for my midnight bowl of soup at Mister Henry's, ("Approved by the Bohemian Embassy") next to Bill Evans and Thelonius Monk. Both of them were playing the Brass Rail. Ah, the good ol' days!

We're talking and listening to a lot of Evans since the passing of Tony Bennett last week. We saw Pizzarelli at the Mtl. Jazz Fest a couple of weeks ago and even he mentioned Bill and Tony's collaboration in the '70s and the beauty and richness of Bill's phrasing on Some Other Time.
