This is what Ynwie Malmsteen said in an interview: "I watched this young Japanese girl [Unlucky Morpheus] on KZbin recently playing "Far Beyond the Sun" on the violin, note for note, absolutely perfectly. It was really great, and what was so interesting is that it sounded like it was a piece of violin music, not just a string of guitar licks. It is so crazy that it sounds exactly like it was composed for the violin. I was amazed by that. It was like it had gone full circle from me being inspired by the violin to hearing it played by a great violinist".

Transcribing the keyboard solos to guitar was genius.
@sigiligus4 ай бұрын
It is not transcribed at all. The guitar parts for this performance are wholly original. Transcription refers to altering a piece of music such that it can be played on a different instrument. But it involves playing the same intervals, just in a different key. The violin parts of this performance ARE transcribed.

This one of the best covers of any music piece I have ever heard. As a fan of Yngwie since the this album came out. This cover highlights the genius of Yngwie Malmsteen as a composer. And their understanding and performance of this is soo true in spirit of the original. The performance itself is a masterpiece and a fantastic tribute to the great master Malmsteen. I am full of admiration.

Yngwie's guitar parts on violin, Jens Johannsen's keyboard solo played on guitar, the guitarist doing Yngwie's signature guitar throw at 5:37. The Unlucky Morpheus folks have done their homework and put their hearts into it. Great cover.

She has been pulling double duty for quite some time now. Shiren's disorder has gotten much worse to the point he can only do his solos live when performing. Jill does all of his guitar parts otherwise. That's also likely why he isn't in this video. Everything he would be doing, Jill is doing. Now that said he's still the brains behind the entire thing and still writes all of the music, he just has to take a more passive role when it comes time to perform live. For example, in newer songs he's started doing harsh vocals. So he fills the time he can't play his guitar with singing.
@hiawatha.g4 жыл бұрын
@@smward87 Their ability to adapt is something that sets them apart. And of course, her ability to pick up the guitar lines is just insane. I think she's the best jazz/rock/metal violinist since Jean-Luc Ponty (if you don't know him, check him out).
