That’s why the Bible really isn’t a holy book because the first ones to modify the scriptures were and still are the Jewish priesthood. If this was really a book from God , nobody could have touched it, yet it has been altered and changed throughout history. Christians don't believe that Bible is straight from God* Bible had not fallen directly from God or from heaven. On the contrary, Bible is a compilation of 66 books written by 40 different authors over a period of about 1500 years. Holy God used sinful men with different background, education, intellect, vocation and situation as agents to *convey to the sinful men* all that He willed to convey. Even for framing the criteria to be accepted as Holy Scriptures as well as for the compilation of the Bible, Sovereign God in His Sovereign will, plan and wisdom *used the intellect of sinful men.* There can be differences in observations, style and emphasis between authors. But, they are not contradictions. This is the belief of the true christians about the Bible. Sinful men may find them lies and contradictions, when studied with sinful motives, apart from the regeneration by God. 2. *If unity was the prime objective* of Constantine, what is the purpose of including the following verses in the Bible ?? But when you think about it , you could spot it one or two, but it can't be all three. Epicurus nailed it 300 years before the birth of Jesus. If it's omniscient, it knows how much misery there is, and if it's omnipotent, it could end that misery at will. Therefore It cannot be benevolent. Here in Louisiana, we have a favorite food called Sea Food Cumbo. Regardless of whatever anyone says about the Bible, the whole book hangs one verse: Romans 10:9: "If you confess with your lips Jesus Christ is Lord and you believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved". My point being that once you are saved, you are born again which means the Spirit of God is planted in your body and soul by God and you become a new creation "in Christ", just as God breathed his Spirit (breath) into Adam back in the beginning and Adam became a "living being". But Adam lost the Spirit when he decided to pursue knowledge and died to God after he was warned. My final point being that a Christian learns to understand the scriptures as he prays for understanding and the Spirit within him "leads him into all truth" over time. The non-believer sees the scriptures as only manmade and therefore full of errors and not to be trusted. So, with the Spirit, God's words become a "lamp unto my feet".

I cant agree we have been lied to for 2000 years I have been a follower of the Church of England since a young child. From early times religion of the majority of faiths has been used to convince persons to give up or take lives in war but when we had the first printed versions in the language of the country People could work out their own interpretation providing one could read.hence the reformation. The King James Bible is a product of a comittee of scholars. The Good News is a modern interpretation. I have 5 Bibles King James, Good News, Roman Catholic, French Hugonot, Slave Bible from the West Indies plus Flavious Josephus History of the Jews. They are all different interpretations. I have never been taught these are the words of God but interpretations by men so when you read Mathew he was a Tax collector good with figures He wrote exactly what he observed. Peter could not write Greek or Latin therefore he used Mark who was a professional interpretator with resulting errors. Example, the word Paralised. Peter mentions a man with Celebral Palsey the nearest interpretation is Paralised. To you and me totally gives a different image. The Old Testement is basically a book of thou shall nots. The New Testement is please do. A Message based on treat your neighbour as yourself. Who is your neighbour? To a Jew then it was a Samaritan Today It is an Islamic Arab.

Are you aware the first English Translations of the Bible By William Tyndale and Miles Coverdale of 1534-1536 did not contain the English word Church. The 1611 English bibles thru the direction of Pope King James and His Anglican Church Translation was the first to use the English word Church. Have you ever thought about why the Old Testament never uses the word Church even though the Greek word Ekklesia in used many Times. In the Old Testament the Translators used the correct words Assemble or Congregation of gathered people where the Greek word Ekklesia is found. Are you aware we get our English words Circus and Circle from the German language and the Word Kirke which comes from the Latin Roman Word Circe who was the Roman God Helios Goddess Daughter.
