Excellent display I’ve seen between the two nations. You can feel the intensity in the air when they’re both at it. The game was great but the pre game ritual was better in my opinion. The Fijian hymn singing is quite different. The whole stadium gets filled with their melodious vocals. Moving.. It’s pure magic! I’d encourage them to keep it. It makes the Batis different to their pre game ritual in rugby union.

@@cascade3769 considering England's first training squad was named back in March and final 24 man squad announced late September, they better win against Samoa who have had no prior preparations, no warm up or anything prior to game 1 and have used the 4 games to improve and gel as a team. How embarrassing it will be if England lose and even more earth shattering once the world knows that Samoa didn't have any preparation and played as a new team for the first time in game 1 vs a team that's been in training camp for months.
@cascade37692 жыл бұрын
@@zion8614 I don't think you can use "embarrassing" and "England" in the same sentence. Of course, people expected Samoa to be rusty and lacking cohesion- but they got smashed by a side who has never won a World Cup. Losing by that score was unacceptable; regardless of the situation.
@zion86142 жыл бұрын
@@cascade3769 people did not expect Samoa to be clunky and all over the place, in fact they were favourites going into game 1 because of the 8 grand finalists named in the squad. Samoa hasn't won a world cup either so I don't get where you're coming from. England have 5 super league grand finalist in the team & 6 nrl players, coupled with months of preparation. With 3 of the 8 Samoan grand finalists injured, it's evened out with 5 grand finalists on each side. England is rank 3rd in the world & Samoa 7th. Don't get me wrong, England deserved the win in game 1 & we admit they were the better team. Though Samoa is peaking at the right time, there's still a lot to work on but if they're able to get the win with only 4 weeks under their belt, why wouldn't it be embarrassing for the world cup hosts who've been training for months ? If anything England should be the one to win with all the preparations they've made. This is the gap between coaching ability & preparation. It will boil down to whether Samoa can close this gap & prove critics wrong otherwise England will win.
