You actually tamed this mono beast really well, sound is absolute badass for it’s size and money, especially with white noise,just alien signals straight into brain. Love how it sounds, hopefully you will make some more jams with it. And I’m gonna breathe, slowly and deeply. Too much new hardware, and this is only Jamuary on calendar.( takes few anti GAS pills)

Hey Jade. I am so impressed with how you have demoed the Uno in this video. You really show it off superbly. I can hear how it can be used in recordings that are for commercial release. I am sure some top producers will be using it on a few tracks in their production slyly and not let people know lol
@theothertonydutch6 жыл бұрын
You can release anything commercially, though.
@RoomAtTheTopStudio6 жыл бұрын
@Ja Kooistra technically yes but for it to work with radio djs and for it to be played in the clubs no. Very rarely do you hear strictly modular stuff in the dance clubs and I've never heard modular in a reggae club. That's not to say you can't record something and release it commercially yourself but when you get to the promotion part unless it comes up to a certain standard and can play alongside what is current then it will get lost and not played. There are always exceptions to the rules but I'm talking about the norm. What I am saying is I can hear sounds on the Uno that can be used in dance, hip hop, reggae genres and professional producers who make these types of music could and would utilize these sounds.

Sounds like a fun/great little synth. The one thing that kinda bugs me is: that you have to hold down the DIVE, SCOOP, VIBRATO, WAH, and TREMOLO buttons to activate them. That leaves you with only one hand free to play the synth. Or did I miss something? I mean there is a HOLd button but you didn’t use it, to hold any of the effects I mentioned above. Please let me know if I’m wrong or right. And as always - great video Ms.Jade. Cheers!

I ended up narrowing down my 1st analog synth to this or the microbrute. I ended up getting the microbrute and im happy with but a year later now i might pick this up too. I just want to comment that this UNO controls other sound modules great. The arpeggiator is insane fun and it plays wavetable synths great. BONUS: the UNO keyboard is polyphonic when you play other polyphonic MIDI modules even tho the UNO itself can only play one note at a time. UNO comes with 2 MIDI cable adapters so you can plug in normal 5-pin DIN MIDI cables to run other stuff. I have several synths and modules and I can easily recommend this as a person's 1st synth. It has all the normal analog synth stuff PLUS the super convenient digital control. setting a new patch on the fly on a brute sux. the UNO has 80 user resettable patch slots. Once you wasted all that time getting your patch perfect you can save it for instant recall. If you get to somewhere you don't want to be, just select a new patch and you are out of the weeds.
@woodswalker885 жыл бұрын
wait a minit. Are you saying I could control a Behringer Deepmind with this???? OH WAIT. Are u saying I could get that tiny little pocket-sized Dongle that is a full synth, and plug it into the MIDI cable of the UNO?? cause that would mean I literally have a synth that could fit in my purse. OHhhhh MYyyyy.
@jjrusy74385 жыл бұрын
@@woodswalker88 I just watched that video about the synth in a connector recently. I would guess it all depends on if the UNO has enough beef to power the dongle-synth. You definitely could control the deepmind from the uno with midi.

It is cool, I have one but these guys have some work to do as far as making the sequencer portion of this thing user friendly. Also, having to use the data up/down buttons is very cumbersome. There needs to be a dedicated knob to adjust the data such as glide, gate, etc. Also there should be a mode where you can step through the sequence as the unit is not playing and hear the notes as you step through them, instead of just guessing based on note display. There are about 15 separate improvements that could have made the sequencer portion of this thing perfect.

Question: if i use the Uno Synth keyboard to control other gear (connetting gear by midi) does the selection of the scale works? For example, can I play the sound of a Volca Key or other midi synth in pentatonic maj scale using the Uno Synth as midi controller? Sorry for my English :D
@jjrusy74385 жыл бұрын
Yes. I use the UNO to control other sound modules with MIDI. The note that UNO plays is what goes to the MIDI out. scale/arp/seq = all the same because they all play notes. you can play any scale manually using full chromatic default setting that uses all the keys). HTH

Hi Jade, i can conect my electric piano with UNO synth? Thank
@jjrusy74385 жыл бұрын
If the electric piano has MIDI in, the UNO can control it. If the electric piano has MIDI out, it can control the UNO. UNO is mono synth, so the sequencer and arp are more useful controlling other MIDI instruments, BUT with something like a 12-step foot controller which usually plays mono notes, the UNO works great as a drone or bass. The arpeggiator makes an external sound module piano play very nice. HTH

@basicnoise6 жыл бұрын
@@NeonFuxAlot I've no problem with the layout. Just with the knobs. The Blofeld has encoders.

Ahh , sorry for the mix up lol. Okay i get you now - for presets encoders would be better as when you select a preset then move a knob the value jumps from the preset value to the knob value and encoders would have sorted this and started the same value when you turned them ;)

The sounds are more than ok. Wish it was housed in a metal case though...
@jjrusy74385 жыл бұрын
the thing is tiny and thin and the plastic is plenty sturdy. The entire surface is continuous plastic with all those touch pads and no breaks. This isn't your standard box with a keybed and actual switches. The construction issues of replacing all those touch pads with individual membrane switches and punching out all the holes in a metal housing would increase the cost substantially. I would guess 2x or even 3x for all that extra hardware and mfg steps. This thing is fine as-is and super fine when you consider what a beast it is for only $200
@fabbroubauba66856 жыл бұрын
oh sounds good ehm? touch things thing? analog monophonic with matrix and 7 knobs? plastic case? grey on black? 200 is really expensive. 400 for something real is cheaper.
