i have what’s called a “chameleon accent”. i’m from rural new york so i don’t have a very prominent accent, but if i talk to a southern person, someone from the city, or anyone with a prominent accent for 10+, i will start to speak in their accent. it’s happened with every person i’ve talked to with an accent since i was a kid. so i guess that could be the american accent exaggeration? if it could be considered that :)
