Yeah, mine arrived with a beat up cate too. Seems like the material is just a little thicker than balsa wood. 😁 I was still impressed by the packaging as nothing was damaged inside.

No. As far as brand, I think I used either Castrol or valvoline. There isn't anything special about the motor manufacturer brand, other than it is expensive.
