Lots of good ideas here! Hygiene is important also! Remember if you get stuck you never know how long.. travel toothpaste, brush and some dude wipes to use bathroom. If they dry water will reactivate them. Can also consolidate to a ziplock bag for less space. If not anything else add the wipes. Can also use to clean/ wipe yourself/gear down

I carry wet wipes religiously in a little pouch above my headlight pouch. Theres a reason its called mountain money lol. So valuable. I really like your ideas about the hygiene items! I could easily assemble a backpacking size kit for that and stuff it into the med kit.

@@madjack_757 thanks! Buddy if mine thats a doctor brought it to my attention. Many people pack for the unexpected but often forget hygiene he said. He said this, socks and underwear. Nothing is worse than having wet socks, unkept groin and feet especially if it gets fungal or worse. Granted this might be in an extreme scenario. But something to think about ride safe 🤙

@PsychoSainten oh I am well aware of that situation.. I have a big video series I am working on currently where I was on a 14 day pack trip across wa and or. On day 2 my bag of socks and underwear fell off my bike…

SuperGlue. If you can find the medical grade, use that, but if not, regular superglue will work in a pinch to close a cut very effectively. In wintery weather, it's not unusual to get splits in the skin in the corners of your thumbs, etc... which are very painful. Superglue them and the pain nearly disappears instantly. Definitely clean the cuts first. IMO, one that is more gel than runny works better.

thats a really good idea especially in the event of a deep cut

I suggest you to start wearing some elbow and shoulder protection, otherwise you are gonna test that kit sooner or later. 🙂 Other than that, it should be noted that even more important thing than the first aid kit itself, is to take some medical emergency training course. ER professionals use to do a basic training courses for general public for cheap. You learn what to do in each situation, how to do that, what is actually important and they walk you through practicing it on a test dummy or a live figurant, correcting your mistakes. Just one such course improved my ability to save myself or sameone else quite substantially. I'm gonna take a refresh course every 10 or 15 years as I forget most of that eventually.
