Waterprrof or resistant sneakers: I go to a dedicated runners' shoe store and buy winter running shoes with GoreTex. It's your friend. My two pairs have last years and still work at keeping my feet dry unless I literally step in a puddle that goes well over my ankle. I alos highly recommend merino wool socks. We get Bombas but there are other good brand out there. I honestly thinking good running shoes give great support and wearablity. Especially if, like me, you neeed lateral support. My ankles aren't the strongest. When I'm traveling to known wet places, like Ireland say, I always have an extra pair of socks in my bag or jacket plus a ziploc bag. If my socks do get wet, I change them. As soon as I can get to something that can pat dry in inside of the shoe. I've heard of folks carrying microfiber washclothes with them for that very reason. Just a thought!

The best conditioner I use for travel comes from hair color kits from the local drugstore (CVS, Walgreens, etc). I prefer Loreal's Excellence but Preference would work too - they both have the conditioner in a tube and one tube lasts me at least a week of daily use. It is highly concentrated so a little goes a long way. I wait until I see the hair color on clearance or on sale with coupons and pick up a couple.

Hi - heading to Ireland on Thursday. A few days in Dublin and taking the train to Galway for a few nights. Would you still recommend the Aran Islands visit? Ive seen conflicting reports if the boat ride (yes I do get seasick and yes I would have dramamine) is worth the rough ride. I booked a GYG tour to the island for the day.
@GenxGypsy19683 ай бұрын
My honest answer is unless you REALLY want to explore the ruins and buy an Aran Island sweater on Aran Island (they are available pretty much everywhere in Ireland), I don't think its worth it. Because the ferry takes 1.5 hours each way, your time on the island is really short and I found the tour very rushed. Not sure if it's available in your itinerary, but I loved Kilkarney and the National Park, and Connemara was absolutely beautiful. Hope you have an incredible trip ❤️
