I'm so glad you liked it! I do it from time to time, and it has always worked well for me.

We did it in class today, and it was great! I read it three times to my novices and asked the groups to read it in front of the classroom. After, they follow up by creating some questions about the paragraph. The results were pretty good, but the activity was intimidating for some of them.

Greetings from Brazil! Any thoughts on dictogloss in a one-to-one setting? Gracias so much for your work and the inspiring content you put out there, Florencia.

Thank you for your kind words, Eduardo! If you're doing individual classes, you could still do dictogloss without the collaboration portion of it, and instead you could ask your student to think aloud (verbalize what they're thinking). Depending on what they're verbalizing, you could step in and provide help. For example, if they're unsure about something related to form (e.g., "I don't know if this word is spelled like this..."), you could give them immediate feedback. If it's something related to how well they remember content, then you can let them wait until you display the passage.

Here you can see an example of instructions of a dictogloss. Of course, it can be modified: for instance, it could be someone else's biography, and the last step could be to guess whose biography it is. drive.google.com/file/d/1nxm-rh_CPH-pDwhdWPEbVHcG-sL05vAw/view?usp=sharing
