And the people that suffered are the ordinary Namibians who are working day and night to put bread on the table.Namibia is apparently a very very very rich country with just 2 or so millions but with a shocking high unemployment rate, massive retrenchments, crumbling health sectors and much more. Its really sad what has been happening and is still happening in Namibia.

A country's resources is not owned by a specific political party or any individual. We all as Namibians should benefit from it. But our leaders that we put there cannot even deliver that to us. It's a pity. Imagine what that N$150 to 2 billion could have done in our small population. It's a pity the level of greediness of some people really it makes me feel sad for the future of country. Namibia is a rich country. Imagine if only fish can bring up such money, what about other resources such as diamonds, tourism etc.

not all corruption, this 30 mining companies which earned about N$85 billion from selling Namibian minerals paid only N$1 billion in corporate tax are the biggest corrupt www.namibian.com.na/187954/archive-read/Mines-on-tax-honeymoon

What hurts the most is, we Namibians are way too kind/peaceful and they are taking advantage of that fact.. We are such a small population and yet they are failing us drastically..

@@NangulaUahengo90s Do you want me to tell the truth and nothing, but the truth. Those people screw us between 1.4 and 1.6 Nam units in bribes, but real cancer and that shit need to be addressed are 30 mining companies which earned about N$85 billion from selling Namibian minerals paid only N$1 billion in corporate tax and they are still doing it up to this moment. even if EPZ allows these company to exports outside Namibia to be tax-free, and manufacturers get to pay 32% tax paid by everyone else some of these mining company don´t pay, was seen as a preferential tax regime. This is an incentive that is heavily exploited by these greedy investors, especially within the mining industry across the continent, so it is good we are doing away with it, but do we have an alternative even with a new candidate? The answer is no, we don´t have an alternative. This EPZ incentive only benefited foreign investors and not Namibians and be careful with any politician telling you to vote for him and promise to change mining rights. Is a scum and I know when that will happen and that is when we have an alternative!

Oh wow 💔💔.. How on earth is this even allowed to happen?? I thought we Namibians have full control over many of these crucial industries.. Why does Ministry of Mines and energy even exist for 🤦🏽♀️ how are they not fighting this ??? We Namibians are being taken for a poes man 💔.. It’s a shame... Our top powerful leaders are sooo weak to take initiative and STOP all these nonsense...

@@NangulaUahengo90s No African country has control over its mining sector except Zimbabwe who has total control and she is being punished for that. Namibia and many African governments depend on mineral resources for revenues, yet the extent of foreign ownership means that most wealth is being extracted along with our minerals. In only a minority of mining operations do our governments have a shareholding? Company tax payments are minimal due to low tax rates instead of paying 32% that every Namibian paid and while governments often provide companies with generous incentives such as corporation tax holidays too. These Companies are also able to avoid paying taxes by their use of tax havens. Is not something to mention, but we all know many tops listed in top financial exchange companies which are also incorporated in tax havens, principally the British Virgin Islands. It is estimated that Africa loses around $35billion a year in illicit financial flows out of the continent and a further $46billion a year in multinational company profits taken from operations in Africa. These companies' increasingly dominant role in Africa, which is akin to a new colonialism, is being facilitated by British governments, Conservative and Labour alike. Four policies stand out. First, Whitehall has long been a fierce advocate of liberalized trade and investment regimes in Africa that provide access to markets for foreign companies. It is largely opposed to African countries putting up regulatory or protectionist barriers to such investment, the sorts of policies where have often been used by successful developers in East Asia. Second, Britain has been a world leader in advocating low corporate taxes in Africa, mainly in the mining sector. Third, the western power policy has done nothing to challenge multinational companies using tax havens; indeed the global infrastructure of tax havens is largely a British creation. Fourth, British governments have constantly espoused only voluntary mechanisms for companies to monitor their human rights impacts or regime change like in Namibia; they are opposed to enhancing international legally binding mechanisms to curb abuses or Democracy which to me is just about perception management, and if successful in exporting the model, establishing a system that's easier for the west to control through regular election/"regime change" cycles, etc.. The result is that the Mama land of all-time greatest Ancestors, the world's poorest continent, is being further impoverished by the west via these corporations. www.namibian.com.na/182630/archive-read/EU-to-delist-Namibia-as-a-tax-haven

Well done to all investigators, but this really is depressing. we r such a small country, what hope do we have? the african democratic model has been proven to be: 1. independence, 2. corruption and croneyism, 3. civil unrest (tribalism, ethnic clashes, etc) and finally 4. civil war and political/social instability forever. Our beloved Namibian society is crumbling and Namibians r not willing to save our beloved country. We you steal from your brother you steal from yourself. 😢😢😢
