Hammers have arguably the highest actual skill ceiling in the game due to the effective hitbox, animations, weight etc. However, a lot of high skill players at endgame use the two handed warhammer because it has pure blunt damage, which is effective against armour and does good damage. It is much heavier and stamina intensive than a sword or spear though. If someone is not good at using a hammer, then there is no point, just give them a sword or spear. An oghmium heavy great blade with good trinkets actually deals more damage and has less weight, but I have always loved hammers and have been using them for years. ❤

@ so 2h warhammer is considered hammers? i guess ive liked sword because it feels so fluid & easy to not handle hit
