Good video and I agree totally with the nessecity to get the entire run in for everybody. However with the screen time thing for each sport I'd say comparing it to golf or tennis isn't really fair for obvious reasons. Downhill, GS skiing (which you also mentioned) is the best comparison. How long does the average ski racer get on screen a year? Pretty similar to DH, helmet, goggles on.

Yes, and look how the best DH skiers get paid. E.g. Kitzbühel DH race 2022: 1. 100k (EUR), 2. 50k, 3. 25k.... in comparison to this, elite DH mountainbiker get paid absolutely nothing, by taking huge risks.

Some valid points here. So many people willing pay to jump in their car and drive to their favourite riding spot every weekend, but not willing to fork out to view the best in the sport on TV? Sure - some fans will be lost, but suspect that'll be a fraction of the new ones starting to follow the sport, and that can only be a good thing.

Bring back freecaster. I’m not paying to watch bikes when I could be riding them.

Yes, not free coverage is the death for DH mountainbiking. And so is PPV.

This is almost what happens in skiing. You have two race runs and if your time is in top 60 you go again but you start at the time you crossed the line with. If your gonna have a semi final make it more interesting

I'm really enjoying you guys opinions on the future of Downhill but I feel I have to point out that you guys protesting against the UCI involvement in the Sport by wearing your Grannies Fleece on air is very Brave however Misguided. If you really want to join the Tweed Valley Mafia you must at all times wear a Santa Cruz fleece accompanied by TVTA labelled Thong . Yours sincerely Tam frae Jedburgh aged 9and a wee bit

Hey Tam, your feedback is important to us. Our Grannies are successfully running the subliminal propaganda department of Sleeper. And il have you know we were both wearing the appropriate thongs during this interview. Have a lovely day.

Your going from top notch freeview to pay for view that sounds like they are making it up as they go along. What could possibly go wrong? I can see this dying a very slow death. If it was on one of the major pay for view networks in Europe like Netflix and co it could work but it’s not. Wish them luck but I’m afraid that was it for most people.

Several very key points. 1. pay to view, this is why the sport has sponsors get more sponsors, if need bee go outside of the narrow MTB sponsor pool. Every single person involved in the World Cup "had" to get a vaccination...why the F$$$K cant at the beginning of each race...brought to you by PHY$ER , or twitter or amazon or tesla or nestle or the tourism board of what ever country the race is in...... It is still unclear whether many people will even be able to watch the race due to geo location or lack of subscriber TV options in their area.. 2.Why try to create content for people that are not MTBers you could never represent the activity to someone who has never ridden and found the edge of their ability, someone who has first hand stood at a drop or a gap or a steep or a rock garden and contemplated what was required to ride it... 3. For the talk and interest in creating new content, has it even been released whether any of this non Discovery footage could even be shown, can riders even post their gopro footage, if they are charging a exorbitant amount for the race teams to even take part, so they even have something to broadcast, how much are they going to charge press or content creators to utilize their venue? 4. lastly a 4 year old could do the math that shows twice as many race runs in a season creates twice as much risk, especially back to back runs at peak output. Many more points could be made...but I feel it's a moot point at this time....because of the clandestine nature of the Di$covery takeover Does the sport really need more chainsaw wielding drunkards that don't actually take part in Mountain biking....more is rarely better, if you were at the world champs you'll know what I'm talking about.
