I keep hearing alot of things about this guy in general. Speeding up videos and not actually playing or something. I'm not sure one way or another. I know I really like this style. It would be ashame if this was faked in anyway. And if not. It sucks he is getting so much bad press. Because I believe he can probably play his ass off. Idk just my opinion.
@InfamouslyCantankerous4 жыл бұрын
I don't believe it is faked I believe he is pantomiming over the track. This guitar track is heavily edited and processed. This isn't him playing it live on the spot. At least I dont believe so. Again I'm not saying he can't play or that its faked I'm just saying this isn't him playing live.

@@InfamouslyCantankerous He's legit. I used to think Manuel was fake but I gave Clown a try after buying his tabs (less than $5 for the tabs) and naw man, it's achievable. The guy is legit. While there is plenty of merit in learning a song exactly as the original is played, I personally think that there is greater value in using your ear and playing songs in a way that is comfortable to you. If you are playing the right notes and chord structures/voicing, but just in a different place, that's okay. It's important to develop your own habits, arrangement, and playing style if you intend to develop your own unique sound! You weren't playing it incorrectly; just different! :)

It's easy to do with thicker picks, the jazz III and Big Stubby work really well for that
@NathanielBTM4 жыл бұрын
@@WildWildWeasel I actually use a Maxgrip Dunlop jazz III. I can play the intro riff but just not with that style of string scratching. When I do it it's more like... Just normal strumming... actually not even... it's just... Like picking but with much bigger motions... It's weird in a different way and my pattern is off... It's so confusing. I'll have to keep slowing the video down to get it into my muscle memory. But I'll definitely be looking into trying to learn his technique over my current one as it just looks so cool and looks like he's in alot of control of his strumming. Mine is just all over, same overall sound to an extent but much more messy I'm also playing on a classical acoustic with 12 - 56 bronze strings tuned to drop D so I'm not playing in standard tuning. I can't tune to standard because the tention is already so high. It kind of makes it easier to play in Drop D anyways but since my strings have so much tention and thickness, the slides are building major calluses on my fingertips from the friction as I do so... which is actually a good thing haha even though it's kind of painful. I already have good calluses as is... But now I'm just building it up even more.
