I think the reason low ranks swap their hero for counter picks is because they haven't learned what it is they need to do to win the bad matchup but the easy matchup provides quick success.

Just in case someone didn't get what hits can mean to the Hog ult, it means that the ult bullets reach the target the moment they are shot, but in the case of the hook, it's a projectile with a travel time. So it will not hit the moment you hit the button but after a delay that is in the form of animation.

38:56 I think it's because higher elo players swap to characters they are “most familiar” with, and choose not to play characters they aren’t familiar with cause they might under perform at that high-rank. So a GM player with 1,000 hours on Hog and played 10 minutes on Ball will probably never pick Ball in rank because he’s bad at Ball. Most lower elo players are probably lower elo because they are new to the game, and thus don’t have characters they are skilled at (no character with over 100+ hrs). So if you're not good with any character it seems smarter to swap to counter whatever the other team runs to give you an edge in the fight, or in some cases to decrease toxicity with teammates that want you to swap (like hitscan for Pharah). The problem with counter swapping is that you end up spending so much time playing so many different characters that it will slow down your ability to rank up because it takes a while before you get good at a character. So A player that chooses to spend 380 hrs on a single character will probably find ranking up a lot easier then a player that diversifies his hrs to like 10 hrs on all 38 characters so he’s better at a variety of counter swaps, but then complains about being stuck “elo hell”.

The game @ 3:57:00 is what I absolutely LOVE to see from my teammates. You can't let the entire enemy team counterpick your tank without making some swaps to turbofuck them back...so the idea that they go Orisa to counter your Hog, but their Orisa gets eaten by your Sym, that's beautiful teamplay. If every team did that, tanking in OW2 would be a lot more fun than it is right now. I also wouldn't mind seeing tanks get their headshot damage reduced, maybe cut 25% damage off tank headshots. It shouldn't be as rewarding as it is right now to headshot these extremely generous critboxes. This would also smooth out a lot of the tank imbalances like Hog v Rein/Winston And last thing is I would give Winston's alt fire a 2X damage modifier against built objects. That hero gets too fucked right now by Torb turrets, lamps, pylons because he is literally the lowest DPS character in the game.

I think he walks forward a bit more than the old one shot combo and he always aims perfectly at the neck, depending on the characters head size u can move it up a bit. He also yanks them too the side and then walks diagonally predicting the direction they want to run so they end up closer.

I think lower level players are probably more ok with switching to something they know they aren't experienced with because it's "the answer" to the problem where as higher level players probably prefer to figure out how to play around the problem with the characters they play more often.

it depends on the environment and where they are. you wanna get your enemies away from somewhere the hook will break, like if theyre behind a doorway wall you wanna get them away from the wall first, range does matter a lot in this tho as thats the amount of times you have to turn. 1:51:58 is where you can find the best explanation from cyx. hope this helps!

i think his primary fire rework is gonna be a grenade launcher. it falls in line with junkrat which is lore accurate and it sorta keeps the same gun model as now and ammo count. which they described the rework as "taking space more effectively etc and removing SOME of his 1 shot potential" the new ability idk, based on how they did sombra it'll be something simple thats aoe. 1st guess would be like a "scrap grenade" you lob like bastion OR some kind of "keep away" ability which would line up with no more shotgun primary.

As a Plat, I think people swap more in lower ELO because they know they can rely less on individual skill. If I play Rein at Plat level but Orisa on a gold level, gold Orisa still feels like a better matchup vs. A plat level hog. Not sure if that ALWAYS works out but I think thats peoples thought process.
