Budget airlines these days don't have luggage anymore so that's why most don't use any system at all.
@Jammanzilla988 ай бұрын
The issue with most of the boarding techniques in practice is that you're splitting up people who are travelling together. If group travel was factored into the experiment the scores would likely favor the back to front method much more. I know I'd rather take an extra 10m than spend half the time sat alone in the boarding lounge.
@cezarcatalin14068 ай бұрын
True, but that can be very easily solved with dynamic group passenger allocation. See which people want to travel together and assign them according to group size and preferences. Kid/parent pairing can happen at this point as well. Once you have all groups pre-organised, it’s all a matter of letting the people flow in into chunks irrespective of initial grouping knowing that the intermediate pre-allocation will ensure groups will remain together at the end no matter the boarding order.
@brokenglassshimmerlikestar34076 ай бұрын
Yeah, you can't split families up during boarding especially if there are children. But compared to the time needed for the plane to load luggage and refuel and wait for the runway, passenger boarding time doesn't matter too much. The differences are about 10 minutes or so.

I've never seen ordered boarding and I've visited quite a few Europe airports. I'm not sure if it is really possible in a big crowded airport when many flights board almost at the same time. Announcements would mix up or people might get distracted by too many directions etc. Amount of time saved comparing to random boarding isn't that big to be worth the trouble.

To be clear, the way airlines board passengers on the airplane has less to do with time and more to do with weight distribution. When it was chaotic, there have been cases where the airplane tilted back on its tail. These days they organize the cargo and the way passengers board to avoid that issue(depends a lot on airframe length).

@JP_39125 ай бұрын
No airline would ever use random, no assigned seats for a number of reasons, including the fact that should anything happen during flight or to the plane they would be unable to identify who was where. However, I get including it as a metric for what would happen if passengers had no rules on where to be seated (like a bus).

@gbulmer2 ай бұрын
Yes, I agree. When I searched the story was the viewing figures were declining, the budgets were reduced, and so KGT were offered so much less than they were asking for, they chose to leave. Further, some said the producers felt Adam and Jamie could do the final few seasons alone. It may also be budget control is easier when there's only one group to support, record and produce. It's not just the cost of on-screen talent is reduced, but the off-camera staff and expenses are reduced too. The producers could likely draw viewer-statistics graphs and see when it made too little for them to continue. Best Wishes. ☮
@gbulmer2 ай бұрын
@@wingerding At some point, they have mortgages to pay and mouths to feed who depend on them. The budgets were shrinking as viewer figures declined. The producers were looking to cut costs, and maybe to finish the show in a couple more seasons. So the producers might have offered very big cuts to their salaries, and no commitment to more than a season, or a fraction of a season, at a time.. It'd be unwise to accept pay much below their market rate when they likely had good chances to do things they already knew they enjoyed, for better pay, with a longer future, just not on TV. Best Wishes. ☮

You know, i think the funniest Myths are those where they try something that will end up busted anyway. What I mean is that, with the "tooth bullet" example, even IF they would actually find out that it works, like many other "technically illegal" myths, they would bust it. They could never "confirm" something on family TV that would help out would be killers, drug dealers or other criminals with getting away with crime. Another example that comes to mind is the "beat the speeding cam" episodes. Even if they found something that actually works... come on, as if they would show that. Anyway, at least something to be aware of!
@MrMarinus188 ай бұрын
Though in the real world it's totally pointless. If you do an assassination you usually will try to bribe your way out of consequence and with how much evidence is available these days bullet profiling is rarely necessary. With today's technology actually hiding your crime is pretty pointless, the weak point lies in the human factor so bribing and intimidating the legal system is the way to go.

Our company paid for business class for journeys over 5 hours. It's the space, comfort and quiet. An extra 15 minutes waiting to board when your unlikely to move after boarding makes little difference. Everyone leaves the ground at the same time. However, a 7½ hour transatlantic flight with space to stretch out and work or sleep, usually in a quieter part of the plane, in wider more comfortable seats is worth having. People are less stressed, more productive on landing,, and feel appreciated. Best Wishes. ☮
