The should've given us the opportunity to rig any character to the Mannequin Skeleton... It is Unreal Engine afterall

learning from blender? They added basic rigging tools. Basic rigging tools that are universal and were present before blender implemented them. Blender is great but blender is yet to invent anything new. I follow its development very closely and every new feature is a preexisting feature in another program

Can we use an existing skeleton? I mean, It's a tad annoying to rig 10 characters, and create 10 ikRigs, 10 retargetRigs....etc.
@beyawnko290 Жыл бұрын
would be awesome to see how this would work for adding armor and other meshes to character base meshes. i wanna make my models base in outside programs, make sure its rigged in blender, but add armor assets within unreal and fit them. i feel like it could help with custom character creation, allowing clothing and accessory meshes to modified within in the engine.

Thank you for this walkthrough and, I would really appreciate a full rigging tutorial on this editor. 🙏 Do you know if it behaves well in regards to characters with multiple meshes? (ex. clothing, armour, etc.)

I have two questions: 1. Is there a mirror options to use while Editing Weights? 2. Is there an option to hide one object while Editing Weights (example: if you have a character and clothing under one fbx, but as two objects) for anyone who helps, thank you

Is it fully flexible like something compared to blender rigging? I didn't notice any IK/Advanced bones
@Punisher1992 Жыл бұрын
that you can do easy, you just add for example a bone at the feet, make it weight it as IK and then you can use it in ikrig.
@DarkerCry Жыл бұрын
You'd need to use the control rig system for that.
@Darkho1y Жыл бұрын
No ready humanoid setups like AutoRig Pro or Rigify (bones + control gizmos). No IK/FK switches from the looks of it. I'd say it's not even close to your regular DCC tools.
@bdmulligan Жыл бұрын
Your videos are awesome but somebody help me out. How is this new feature helpful for us? With Reallusion's tools, Blender Add-Ons, and Maya Plug-ins we tell the software where to put the bones and our rig is created for us. We then would still have to map our imported bone system to UE's skeleton right? I have to believe I am missing something everyone knows. I mean if you do have to remap this skeleton to the UE skeleton, isn't that going to be a pain since your bones are just randomly named?
@garrytalaroc Жыл бұрын
I was hoping i could do the weight painting inside UE5.3 because in blender it is very destructive and frustrating.

Amazing tutorial, thank you for this. But how do you animate this later? Open a Level Sequencer and than how do you import character into it and animate it?
@tgykurtulus Жыл бұрын
You should create a control rig for the skeletal mesh . then you can animate your model inside the sequencer and bake it as an animation sequencer.
