Unreal Engine 5 - Google Maps & Cesium 2.0 - NO API! NO CREDIT CARD!

This shows how to use the latest version of Cesium 2.0 Unreal Engine plugin and google earth and NOT use the API.
Photorealistic 3D tiles is now built into Cesium and you do not yes you do not need a google account, there are lots of other changes so get creating!

Nice overview. So, what are the updated/new features of the Cesium v2.0 besides the Google Photogrammetry Asset now "embedded" in ION? Is it using the Reality tiler (for better performance(?)) already, for me, it's not clear really. I know this is not about the new v2.0 features, I'm just curious. Also, I'm struggling with poor tile loading performance...while in VR.

the only important thing to know is that if satelite images are poor you will not even have a buildings, not to mention other details, only larger cities are kinda good but great explanation and thank you for the video

Hello there doesnt seem to be much information about rendering setting for sequencer on here. I got this part of the tutorial working. I got everything in editor working but as soon as I go to render none of the tilesets are rendering. I am using 5.3.2 . I have rendered static shots in the past with no issue by adding warm up frames in the Render queue settings do you have any idea how to fix this? Thanks

I notice that when I am closer to the poles of the earth the character stands vertical to the Unreal world Z and not the Z of the earth plan it is standing on. is there a way to flatten a section of the Cesium import? or a way to fix this?

@@MrKams1 right - I see! Cesium has Manchester so no problem there. But the mesh is not as good as Google Earth even at best resolution. Do you think Google will have higher resolution mesh available?

Check Google maps on Web and see if that area exists as 3d as not all areas have 3d tiles !

Only with the ion dataset, see their latest version. Google maps data streams in and cannot be streamed, there may be some hacks via blender and then reimport

When you release a game/project the Cesium require from you to make a paid Google Maps Api Key.

Check Google maps on Internet first and see if there is any geometry for your area, if its flat, then likely there isn't

probably no photogrammetry in that region, you may have to 3d model building yourself and put them down.

The data still belongs to Google, and is very large, there is no way to keep this data afaik

LITERALLY WHY ISN'T IT WORKING I followed the tutorial in every way but when i went to the coordinates i needed everything was a flat satelite image and the buildings were just some squares with colour. I waited for like 5 minutes and nothing happened. Is the problem from cesium or from google maps???????!!!!!!!!!

Check the location on Google maps in a browser, only some of it is 3d
