The script, motion capture, camera placement, audio, most of the set building and custom character creation were done in less than 48 hours (December 1st - 3rd). With more time and effort, this would look a lot better and make a lot more sense but the point of doing this was to show what can be done with a small team. Now imagine what you could do with more than just one Unreal Engine technical artist, a team of writers and sound designers who have much more time and an actual budget! 🤯🤯🤯 THAT is what this all is really about.

What could you accomplish with a 40k budget or 100k budget?

Outstanding short movie, enjoyable to watch, great job! Camera cuts, transitions, voice acting. It's incredible that all this was done in less than 48 hours. Keep up the good work.

Wow! I have watched this like 3 times. This is awesome. Thank you. Quick question, could you please show how to make animation on driving vehicle. I mean character driving vehicle.

I am absolutely blown away by what you were able to accomplish in just 48 hours. How much of that time was spent rendering?

Realtime
@SewerTapes10 ай бұрын
@@arturdziepak I've never created video in UE5, but many filmmakers confirm there are in fact render times, but they never indicated how long. This morning, searching to find a comparison between it and Blender, I found a video called "Unreal Engine 5 Lumen vs Blender Cycles", in which they created practically the same 30 second scene in both. Blender took 10 minutes per frame to render (which is closer to what I'm familiar with), while UE5 Lumen did the entire video in 1 minute 25 seconds. . . so I guess it's really negligible compared to other render engines.

The rendering process of this took about an hour and a half for the whole thing. Realistically, though, I could have just recorded the screen with OBS because it looks just about the same. I just get more control over color and certain other aspect with full renders.

@@DaydreamStudiosHub Awesome. Thanks for the reply, I'm only familiar with Blender and it's hard to find info on Unreal render times. Cheers.

Love the story telling. Ive been practicing in Unreal Engine and cant wait to tell stories like this!

Thanks! The story was the weakest part of this I thought. The competition took place between December 1st - 3rd and I didn't actually write the script until Saturday morning. I wrote one the night before but I just wasn't happy with it, so I felt like I needed to change. Still, we made it to the finish in record time which is always important. Next time, I'll just bring more people in to help with the writing process.

Thanks! I totally agree. There were a lot of key things left out of this film for the sake of the competition. It doesn’t make as much sense as it is now.

There was still A LOT that could have been done to make it look better but this was a timed competition. I also didn’t render with path tracer.
