you used shift-q but didn't explain why, and I can't find the answer in google. But I noticed that its the shortcut for "slide forward". Can you explain why you did that rather than just continuiong to use e and q

E and Q delete into the mesh while Shift+E and Shift+Q will move the selection a layer up/down without deleting the mesh. This can be helpful for rooms for example, you make a box and you want to preserve the outside part but dig out the inside.

@@TitusBray Thanks for the reply. I kinda understand what you mean, when i think about moving from the ground to upward to create like a ceiling with space btw the floor and the ground. I'm a bit confused as to what you mean by "deleting the mesh", sorry I'm not the smartest guy around when it comes to these things! 😅

Yea no worries, by "deleting the mesh" I meant the 3D model. In the video I create a solid rectangle room and then proceed to hollow out the middle part (i.e., deleting the mesh). This is optional, you can of course just model the walls and ceiling using E and Q without issue. I opted for simply making a solid rectangle, making a selection and using shift+Q to push it down and then using Q to delete the inside of the rectangle.
