In all my years, I don't think I've ever seen anyone get so excited about a tractor hood. Kap - you do realize that now you will have to have the front window tinted DARK, so you are not blinded by the glare from the sun?

Wet sand with 1000 grit then 2000 then 3000 then buff with good cleaner wax or glaze. Love your videos!

If there is enough paint. But on a tractor i would just go from 1000 to 1500 and hit it with wool and heavy compound and then a waffle with micro compound to then go to glaze. I never liked the buffers like he is using.

2000 and up is a waste of time. I just use 1000 and/or 1200-1500 and buff with ultra cut compound and then polish. Shines right up and stays that way for a year. Same technique for faded headlights.

That looks super! That's a lot of work but the right components, with the right tools, done by the right guy gets the right finish. Tremendous job, Matt. I think I'd hit Kapper up for another buffing tool. One for applying the ingredients and one for waxing/buffing (ha). Don't tell Kapper I said that. Oops, I think Kapper can see this comment. LoL Enjoyed a full watch 👀.

I have a 2005 4720 and 8620 backhoe that was faded like this as well. I ended up just pulling the entire tractor apart and repainting the entire thing.

Curtis my man, Kapper Enterprises is in partnership with a certain other party (the Clark-in-ator) on the Kentucky side of the river. Once that like new Branson crosses the Ohio, you are a dollar late and a dollar short. Hate your luck but that's the way the cookie crumbles, and the tractor rolls. Sometime chicken, sometimes feathers. lol

Given how expensive tractors are why don't manufacturers wrap the painted parts in PPF?
@padraigdowling8312
@padraigdowling8312 4 жыл бұрын
Gary Moncrieff paint will still fade ppf only prevents stone chips and stuff like that the best way is to just keep them waxed

This was awhile ago so I don't recall. I think my main point was the buffing process regardless of which compound you use.

No sure, I think they did away with that one. They now have a 55 hp hydro cab, and then the 7845c which I have. I think the 7845c is the new and improved version of this one...

Matt is using way to much pressure with his left hand. You don't push down on the buffer. You let the buffer do the work.. That definitely needs color sanding it's too faded to buff out alone.. I know Matt's trying but tell him to not apply pressure and to wet sand it a whole less work and new results..
@ThePenTheSword

Liquid wax over paste because each time you touch wax inside can the contaminates go back into the wax. Kapper since you like spending money then all your subscribers would take a nice kit from The Chemical Guys
