Two decades later, and still remains to be one of the greatest first person shooters ever to come into existence. No other first-person shooter, after the golden age of FPS', has ever replicated the gritty, raw, fast pace gameplay this has. Quake 3, Half Life, CS 1.6, and so many others from that era have all those - too. This, though, remains to be my favorite.

Sadly, gaming industry is more focused on wide-spreading their products than making a proper product with an entertaining gameplay, probably because fast-paced games are more difficult and they take more concentration, training and time to be beaten.

What about Team Fortress 2? I think it's the last multiplayer game that you need to practise your aim and etc. And characters that have their own unique play styles. Anyway Unreal Tournament 1999 is my favourite game too.

In modern games when you achieve something you get a lil' jingle and it's over back to the grind. Here is a song completely dedicated to the player for overcoming other badasses in a tournament circuit. Plus watching the trophy spawn on its pedestal and your character do a victory pose is badass.

@@strangesongs8233 It's an italian meme: a KZbinr called Zeb89 used this track as an opening for a video series called "Giochi di Merda" (Shitty Games) in which he talked angrily about games he thought were shitty. Zeb89 was and still is a big meme in Italy because of his costantly over-the-top character. Ironically, UT was one of his favorite games and was quite good at it: he used this soundtrack just because he thought it was cool, I believe.
