Unrequited love hurts. I’m currently going through it. I’ve also experienced what I guess you can call unrequited friendships. You think they are a true friend but they are just knowing you for their own gain, not because they really care. That’s why I now choose to be alone. I wish that this unrequited love I have would go away. He is a very nice person and I’m so lonely that his kindness made me have feelings for him and I don’t want those feelings because they are not mutual.

But you will meet someone who you never expected in years, and this girl will be a distant memory. And as hard as it is, in my experience you don't find it while you're looking for it. The best thing to do is focus on the *right* people in your life, become the best person you can be and live and enjoy life for *you*. As long as it takes, and eventually it will find *you*. @@Bellend50000 thanks so much, even almost one year later and I still feel down seeing that girl. I unfortunately see her in some of the classes we have together. To make matters worse, she ended up dating one of my friends at school which has made me feel even worse about myself. I take some solace in the fact that she's a manipulative person and our values don't match, but the physical attraction element always makes it hurt. I have prayed so many times to God to give me that person you're talking about but my prayers have yet to be answered. I've gone through depressive phases as a result and I'm only now trying to get my life back together in order to focus on myself. It may not always be the person you fell in love with, but someone out there who knows you or wants to know you has feelings for you. Who knows? It could even be the person you love. But that's how I see it. So have hope. There's no need to feel like the world is constantly unfair to you. Love will find a way to save you from suffering from feeling unrequited. Unfortunately, it's also true that the power of love can become an enemy against us while used by those who are wickedly bad and corrupt and prejudiced against us. But there's always a silver lining for everyone because the universe is guiding us to decide for ourselves how we want to live our lives.
