I have these guys too. They do look better in blackwater because it makes their colors pop more. I keep them in high tech and they look fine, but I am sure they would look better in this kind of setup. The shop where i got them from was keeping them in regular tap water parameters, at a PH of 7.5

BTW don't know if you knew this, but these fish make sounds, similar to sparkling gouramis. It's similar to their noise, but quieter. They do it sometimes when they play and when you feed them. if it's quiet enough you can actually hear them, but the most obvious is when you net them out, which of course I don't recommend you do just for the pleasure of hearing them "scream for help" xD
@MJAquascaping2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I heard it in a few KZbin videos when I was doing research on these fish. But when the guy at the shop was netting them out I didn't hear anything.

Hey Mark, Hope all is well I bought a aquario difusser after you recommended it and I have to say best one ever ! Quick question how do you go about cleaning them!
@MJAquascaping2 жыл бұрын
That's good to hear! To clean them I soak the whole thing in a container with some bleach, and I do this while the CO2 is on! This way the bleach does not go in the actual diffuser. After 10-15 minutes i just rinse it in a container with tap water and that is it.
