@@_spooT Yeah.. but that's exactly how the UNSC did do things, especially this late in the war. They were desperate and running low on supplies. Just like during The Storm we sent a bunch of Mongooses with Marines and Rockets against Choppers, Ghosts and the Scarab.

@@wailinginanger3521 You give UNSC command a lot less credit than they deserve, The Storm had a lot more going on than just what the player saw, and even then air support was provided via Hornets and Frigates. The initial part of the mission was to clear AA positions so the Hornets and Frigates could progress, and by the time the Scarab showed up by surprise, the UNSC already had air superiority. It was tactically sound realistically, very far from sending a couple of lightly armed squads and a handful of LRV hogs into an open desert against the entirety of the Covenant ground forces. Humanity had an equal if not superior footing to the Covenant when it came to ground wars, but the Covenant had better capital ships and glassing was responsible for the majority of UNSC casualties

@@chrisv9866 Well I'd hope the Covenant was responsible for a majority of the UNSC casualties. The point I was getting at though is this late in the war, even battling to defend Earth. Humanity was desperate, I'm not saying they didn't fight courageously or didn't give it their all. But the only reason humanity won was because of the Elite-Human alliance that crushed the Covenant at it's core. Sending in hundreds of people to die in a suicide mission just to buy time for a few more weeks was something the UNSC certainly did do.

The AI in Halo 3 is actually amazing. NPC vs NPC combat in most games I see are just NPCs running to their deaths and not even trying to survive, but this is actually believable as a battle in the Halo universe. Just... beautiful
