Amen to that. You can see they had a good time rehearsing and recording this classic prime time series. I don't think I properly appreciated it at the time, even though I did watch pretty much every broadcast. It is a truism, you only miss something when it's gone.🤷 Much of the banter made it to air, and it always 'seemed' like everyone was just 'having a laugh'. _'Snooker loopy nuts are we!'_ And I agree about Davidson, very naturally funny man, one quick cheeky chappy! And a wonderfully authentic smile goes a long way. Unfortunately not PC enough for present day United (Socialist Sanctimonious) -Republics- Kingdom. _note_ I don't want to be misunderstood, PC was a soviet invention, and ought to have died along with it. Hence the elaborately fabricated acronym.

Simon Lloyd, to be fair, mate, game shows back then were watched by the whole family, they weren't just some shite to fill the space between the news and some Marple Mystery pish. I loved being a bairn in the early 90's watching Big Break with my parents, just as my elder sister did 5 years prior watching Bullseye with them. Saturday night used to be about having a laugh with a takeaway, today it's about finding which punter on the street would most likely make people part with their hard-earned cash. "Hi, Tabitha, congratulations on winning this year's X-Idol, here's a record deal that will make you £100,000 and make me $10,000,000. Remember to fuck off after a year so we can do this all again."

Hilarious at 15:36 and 16:06 when Jim and John impersonate each other.

Did you notice in the impersonation Jim mumbled "vote Labour". I take it John Virgo was a Labour party supporter whereas Jim is of course hard right Tory supporter.
