I have an 11yr old daughter snd 13yr old son. It’s awesome that Mike and his team do this job in helping lock away predators but we as parents must do our jobs too. We need to make sure our kids aren’t posting things that might get them unwanted attention, make sure they have privacy settings on so that they can’t get comments and friend requests from random strangers etc. Like Mike said, it takes 5minutes to check a kids settings on their phone. I have friends who let their kids just do as they please on IG and Snapchat etc. nope… not my kids! As a child in the early 1990s, I lived through being groomed and sexually abused by multiple people, which amongst other traumas significantly impacted on my adolescence and adult life. I have survived drug addiction and suicide attempts but thanks to the love and understanding of my fiancée, I sought therapy at the age of 31. When i looked behind me on the last turn he was still following me, so as soon as i got around the corner i sprinted home, and hid in my front lawn up in a tree. I know you probably also agree with that statement and we're just pointing out how the system works.
@gorkyd79122 жыл бұрын
@@TheAwesomes2104 Every person acts selfishly, empathy doesn't have a lot to do with it. Rehabilitation works when the self-destruction and consequences of harm done to others can be shown to outweigh the relatively small and fleeting physiological reward for offending. In this way it's no different than rehabilitating a drug addict or domestic violent. The core problem for society trying to undergo this endeavor is that we have to show that living a non-abusive life has a somehow morally superior quality, otherwise there's no way to convince anyone who has no self-worth that they should not take a self-destructive course of action. Neither empathy nor threats will deter someone who no longer puts value on life itself and in this state society has bigger problems than just pedos believe it or not.

I could. But I'd also likely find out where they live, and do more than just kick their face in on the street. I have some psychopathic traits that I'll not go into, but that kind of evil I have I could only unleash on disgusting people like pedos.

@@lg5221 very true. The father of my ex stepmom was one of those nasties. Tho he got caught touching the daughter of the neighbours on the other side of our street and the father punched him in the face. At the time he was living with us and it was certainly a very weird experience finding out this guy could have done who knows what to me or my stepsister, or when my real sisters visiting. I was very glad my dad told him to leave as soon as possible.

So much respect!! That's healing/closure that a therapist simply can't provide. I simply can't remember my offender and thus was unable to put him away. In the seventies I was forced to stand up to him in court. I was too scared and thus he got away to harm more kids. It's people like these awesome warriors that prevent more innocence to be lost.

Schools and the government have responsibilities of ensuring teenagers are educated regarding this matter. School assemblies should include awareness of such online threats!
@djy56453 жыл бұрын
They do, even in a shit school like mine was they do try to educate kids on this sort of subject matter.

Parents also have a responsibility to protect children too. Why are there always a group that couldn't care less and think it's someone elses responsibility? Probably the same types that want their road blocked off so children can wander about at all hours as they can't be bothered looking after them. I would also want people with criminal records banned from such hunting groups and banned from social media.

Kids won't listen to what they don't want to hear. A 15 year old girl who thinks she has a 23 year old "boyfriend" doesn't want to give up that social boost she'll get from her friends.

I wish that a group like this had been the ones to sting an older family member of mine. He has learning difficulties and has always had problems. He had a really vile upbringing but fared much worse than the others in the family because of his difficulties. I’m very glad he was caught, but he was stung live on Facebook with his name and details broadcast, which led to everyone he relied on being forced to ostracise him, and tbh was pretty sickening for me watching someone I had grown up with in this situation. I know how many issues he has, and obviously the stingers didn’t bother to notice, or else didn’t care. The help he needed wasn’t given to him - he needed social services to get involved. His learning difficulties are that severe. He went to prison for a year. Got out and then eventually got caught in the same way, went to prison for a much longer time. Still in there. When he gets our he’ll probably do it again. Because nobody bothers to really monitor these people it seems. A group like this would’ve noticed and done something that would’ve actually stopped the cycle of abuse. Because it’ll only continue now.

Why do they do it? ...sexual abuse is considered by psychologists to be a form of addictive behaviour. So why do people become addicted to anything? Because they're highly traumatised people. A very high percentage of addicts have been sexually abused and if they haven't, then they have usually been abused in some other way. Addiction is a persons attempt to self-medicate their own trauma. Thus the trauma becomes the addiction and the abused becomes the abuser. Its a cycle of abuse. I would strongly recommend following the work of Dr Gabor Mate who specialises in trauma and addiction.

A while ago I heard a similar person who does this say, when asked about his goals, "My goal is to put myself out of business. I yearn for the day that I wake up and don't have something to do." Stuck in my head ever since. People like the gentleman in this video are true, legitimate heroes. They don't always see themselves that way but it's the truth. I wish them all the best, and I hope they can someday see that quote fulfilled.

I survived childhood sexual abuse from 8yrs old to 11yrs. The fucker went down for 3 years. It's a sad, sad joke within the UK judicial system that these predators get such short punishments for causing a lifetime's worth of pain and ptsd. I'm glad there are people hunting these bastards.
