I've been to Turtuk several times. it's one of my favorite village in this part of the world. Tourists are allowed till Thang village from where the LOC is just a kilometer far and can be seen. Indian Army is posted and they provide binoculars to view the PoK army posts and the officers explains the complete details to every visitor. It's so emotional to be so close to the LOC.

Exactly we have visited the area near thang village last year ,where army troops are posted and they brief us about the LOC, and provide binoculars to see the Pakistani and Indian army bunker in loc...and yes absolutely it's very emotional experience to see your motherland from that point of view..I remember a moment very clearly when an uncle with us, was just singing Jana gana Mana while looking around the mountains and was crying

The best vidro in terns of border villages in Ladhak- Baltisthan area and I am mismerised by the beauty of Turtuk village , roads are beautiful, people are friendly with a mixup of Indo Pak community, Children are very lively and lovely. Schools are situated near the riverside of Shouke river. Very much enjoyable and frightening too because of being the last village on the border where Pakistani heights are within your lens cover.

OK, that kid at the village took my heart away. Life happens so differently to us, it's just unquantifiable. Some borders and some situations just shape our lives way beyond our control. This journey is forever giving and intrigues me to visit the place. Imagine, going through the most breathtakingly beautiful mountains and terrains in the world and you read "Life is like a photograph, you need negatives to develop into positive" (it was in one of the episodes of the series).
