Jared!!! My son, who has been on a hard and difficult path met with our Bishop today to help him get back on the path to his happiness and obedience to the gospel….has joined us watching you nightly. His Bishop asked him to read 2nd Nephi 9 And Alma 34 with thoughts of repentance and come back to discuss it with him. Tonight as you read section 102 with us, you talked about Alma 34 and how we immediately feel the blessings and action of the plan of salvation when we come to obedience in the gospel. You spoke DIRECTLY to our son in your comments. We stopped the video and we talked about how, this is NOT coincidence. We KNOW this. HE knows this. We will visit with you someday and relate this story if we have that blessing!

Thank you for your parting words. I forget sometimes that when God tells me to do something and it doesn't turn out as I planned, it doesn't mean I failed. It simply means I was sent that way for a different reason. Sometimes the only way to win is to fail at your personal goal, and embrace his. Thank you, Bro. Halverson

Elder McConkie said it this way: Though the day of the Second Coming is fixed, the day for the redemption of Zion depends upon us. After we as a people live the law of the celestial kingdom; after we gain the needed experience and learn our duties; after we become by faith and obedience as were our fellow saints in the days of Enoch; after we are worthy to be translated, if the purposes of the Lord should call for such a course in this day-then Zion will be redeemed, and not before. Thank you very much for those wonderful lessons! I am grateful for the time you put into them! Heavenly Father answers the questions and the needs of his children often through other people. You are indeed a tool between His hands to answers those needs. I was very impressed in the fact you said that "Sacrifice does not have to bring success. It is not meant to be merely transactional". Often we think that when we sacrifice something, it is going to bring us success or rewards. But it is not always true at least in this life. It shows that what we are bringing in offer is worth it and we do it for the love of God and His children. Thank you very much for sharing your convictions. And please do not shorten your lessons. That the in depth that helps us really comprehend the value of the teaching. In depth takes time. Love from Germany.

I like to give a big thanks to you for dedicating your life to teach us about the true revelation from our Savior Jesus Christ in these later days. I am so privileged to know about these videos because of a dear friend from California who sent me the link about 2 month ago. I am so thankful for her because she shared this with me and I feel so much JOY listening every day… This week I heard you apologize for a long class, but don’t be it is perfect. These lessons on the persecutions and suffering of the saints has brought to the fore front in my mind the need to more fully repent, so as not to be in need of chastening. I still hold hurt feelings because of those who have hurt me and I NEED to LET IT GO. Only the Atonement can take these burdens and make me pure allowing me to be and do all that the Lord requires of us to fill our duty more perfectly. Thanks for all your help in opening up the scriptures to help us prepare for the second coming.

Thank you for ALL of this wonderful lesson, and thank you for your words at the end there: on Afghanistan and the sacrifices made by many. Those were inspired words. My husband and I were watching this together. He’s a combat vet who spent 28 months in the Middle East, and lost friends in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He was angry with the events that unfolded after the U.S. pulled out, but he said one thing that softened his heart was hearing, or reading somewhere, that an entire generation the people of Afghanistan have grown up in a better environment, where girls were able to go to school and get an education, many went on to higher education! A generation of people who have experienced a better life, and have a concept of what freedom looks like. This may save them in the end, from tyranny and oppression once again. So, the sacrifices of all those who served, of the thousands of troops from 50+ countries from all over the world, who aided in the efforts of building and sustaining a government which would improve the lives of the people of Afghanistan HAS made a difference in THEIR world.

In terms of the Lord handing out justice, I know the civil wars is often talked about. However before the Civil War there was a terrible outbreak of disease, specifically in Independence. David McCullough spends some time talking about it in his biography of Truman, as he was from Independence, and his description of what happened to the city during and after the war is pretty brutal. What a blessing the Saints were in Utah by then.

I appreciate so much the time and effort you were taking to give your insights and knowledge on these scriptures. I have learned so much. One thing that really hit me today as I was listening on how we view sacrifices that we give; to look at the benefit that we are offering to others as we go through hard times to get help to others. It also made me think of hard times we may have gone through when we were children and how all of it was for a good because the Lord‘s preparing us to serve in Zion later in our lives, to be more compassionate and understanding of similar trials that people we come in contact are suffering. Thank you so very much.❤️

My husband and I raised our boys in Nauvoo. The biggest problem with the non members there was that tour buses from Utah would pull in and go to the shops and comment to the owners of the shops Oh! Thank you for taking care of OUR town. We had a beautiful member of the church running for mayor and non members liked him but said we can’t vote for you because you are Morman. We that lived there would try to apologize but there is still some issues with members doing things for those who live there. We loved the tourism as it did help the city but silly people can hurt relationships if they are not careful.

I really like the question to Heavenly Father, "how do I judge someone who has done horrific things, but who also has had horrific things done to him.." Really makes person think. I had a simular experience with someone I was trying to forgive. . they didn't do "horrific" things, but for me they were very damaging, both Spiritually, emotionally, and really stunted my growth. When I asked Heavenly Father this same question, ' how do I forgive this someone, when he himself experienced much of what I was going threw. The answer i got was "he is my child too". It helped me see more then I was seeing.❤

I love the verses in Isaiah 40:12 Isaiah 48:13 that speak of Christ measuring the waters with His hand and “meting out heaven with the span” and “my right hand hath spanned the heavens” coupled with D&C 104:14 that the Lord “stretched out the heavens, and built the earth, my very handiwork…”. This is such a fun play on words when you know that a SPAN means “the distance from the end of the thumb to the end of the little finger of a spread hand” coming from Old English and Middle Dutch ‘spannen’ to stretch (Kind of like the “hang loose” symbol in Hawaii.) I love the image of Christ doing His handiwork, stretching out His hand to measure almost as though He has a bolt of cloth and is quilting or doing some handiwork, measuring fabrics and plains, stretching out valleys and pinching up mountains as He creates His marvelous worlds without number!

Before we throw all the blame on the early saints in the very beginning, it might do us good look at ourselves individually today and see that the Lord could tell us the same things. How many of us today would consecrate everything we had to the church just hand it over? Our homes, our land, our money? Something to think about.

LOL I always wondered how long seminary class would go if the teacher didn't have a time limit.

I wonder if I could trouble you to give me the quote by Joseph Addison you shared about our life being like a nursery for what's to come. I took a photo and accidentally deleted it before I could copy it.

Give us all the detention you want! In the classic movie, "The Breakfast Club," 5 incredibly different students from extremely different backgrounds learned that they had more in common and more love for each other than society would have them, and us, believe. All this happened during detention on a Saturday! It's sort of like the teachings of Christ. 😉 🖤----->🤍

I always thought it was interesting, that at the last supper, when the Lord says one of you will betray me, the apostles questioned if it could be themselves, or which one it could be. this shows that Judas wasn't antagonistic, or outwardly apposed to the Lord's teachings or actions or ideas, anymore than any of the rest of them. It wasn't like they all looked at each other and thought ya we know who it will be, the guy who always dissents in opinion, or rebuts the decisions and ideas of Christ, or the guy who is always sneaking off to meet with the enemy or they guy questioning the divinity of the Lord. they were all in that same boat in way way or another, and rightfully placed themselves in the position of could it be me, because they knew that they hadn't been perfect in following the Lord and and were scrambling to figure out what either themselves or the others had done or would do that would constitute betrayal of the Lord. ultimately they didn't already have in their minds that it would be Judas, because Judas likely wasn't overly or outwardly, different than the rest.
