Well that was hard to watch but I did make it to the end only because I hear it helps your KZbin stats ;-) Honestly I’ve ordered so many mystery boxes (many diff companies) and with exception of some great gems here and there, it has only left me with a mountain of mystery crap to deal with. I stopped ordering altogether…so not worth the risk, headache and shame of making yet another mystery mistake.

First of all thank you for watching all the way through I need all the help I can get on this one! 🤣 you described the overall mystery box experience perfectly- I feel I have gotten a little better at knowing what will be worthwhile but that’s after hundreds of flops and no matter what I can still get better stuff locally.

I bought the same bale and had a very similar experience. I think I could count the number of pairs in there that were made in the last 10 years on one hand. Just very old, outdated stuff. I got a couple of pairs of vintage mom jeans that were ok but most of it was just not worth it. I can't really be mad at them though, it was as described and the stuff was in decent condition. They made no promise of brand or style. Not that that makes it a good box. I also noticed that almost everything in mine was a size 12 or one or two sizes up or down. Not that I plan to order it again, but it made me wonder if you run the risk of getting a box full of 00's since they just seem to pull it straight off the rack.

Oh man, that was terrible! I could just feel the disappointment when you were going through the box. I’ve been there. I was also THISCLOSE to submitting my order for this box about 40 minutes ago, but I thought I’d better check reviews first and I came across your video. $180 is a lot to spend on trash. 😞 I am so sorry for your experience, but I am grateful you shared it.

Hey there. Whew! Rough box for sure! I have a theory that the folks packing the boxes have zero knowledge/interest in clothing and are simply fulfilling a box of denim only (brands, styles, quality, etc are of no interest--their only job is to pack a box of womens denim jeans). Once the box is packed, the obligation is fulfilled. In our area, we have a ton of thrift shops that work that way, making Goodwill bins look like gold mines. Ugh. Your box is brutal. Happy to see a 3rd party make contact for honest critique. Thanks for posting your experience.

That makes total sense and I am not at all mad at the fulfillment people. I do think they rotated out old stock and that’s what was put in these boxes. In theory it’s a great idea and if they can improve the contents somehow it might be a great sourcing option. I hope my feedback helps them!

I purchased a jewelry box from ATS for around $60. I don't remember how many pounds of jewelry was supposed to make up that box, but either way, I was excited because Goodwill boxes are always sold out and I refuse to do any more business with that other company you mentioned. When I received the box, it was very full, so a good sign, right? But going through piece by piece it was just a lot of broken pieces, unusable pieces, pieces that broke while detangling, or basically just junk. I did not get one pair of earrings, all earrings were onesies. If I had small children, they could probably use it as bad costume jewelry. A lot of mardi gras beads and such. I basically threw it all away. So, no, I won't be purchasing any more boxes from ATS.

Ugh such a bummer. I bought the “athletic leggings” bale and there was not one pair of athletic leggings in it. It was mostly cotton fashion leggings. Lularoe, faded glory, cuddle duds. I was so disappointed as in my opinion they misrepresented the bale by calling it “athletic” leggings and it did not include one pair. There was a pair of SPANX leggings in there and that is the only thing I kept out of 200+ pair of crap leggings. I donated 6 trash bags. I did email them and they refunded me 1/2 of the cost. I guess that was better than nothing but so disappointing.

I agree that its a bad buy for resellers, BUT its not stuff that necessarily needed to fill up a landfill either. As an upcycler, art to wear reseller, I see value in the box, even the threadbare Levi's which would look cute with patchwork or some "visible mending". YES, the brands and styles are NOT desirable for reselling and my heart hurts that they are taking advantage of people. I see new skirts, dresses, tops, and handbags out of this lot. I hope you were able to recoup some of the money.

I'm bummed for you but not surprised. I've watched several unboxings from this company and they've all been crapped. They are the leftovers. Not sure if they also offer a curated mystery box but I wouldn't give them anymore money after this.

I have seen some curated unboxings that were better but the COG is high and jeans for example, it’s a box of only 5 so if even one thing is bad or unusable the profit margins are out the window. I can still get better stuff locally I think, but maybe good for people that don’t have access to good thrifting.

My Converse box had four pair of new or close to new adult sizes-both low and high tops. The dirty ones washed up beautifully and with new shoelaces sold immediately. Only two pair of kids shoes. Maybe try again ?

@@Ohyeahrachie They have been in the thrift store business for decades. I have shopped there for decades as well. They mark up decent brands. Dresses are $8 and up. Shoes are usually $10. Jeans start at $7.99 and go up. They run sales every week and know exactly what doesn't sell. They are literally liquidating their unsellable donations to resellers. My only chance at finding things to sell at Americas Thrift store is my reseller knowledge from doing this since 1999.

Was so curious to see if this company would be another resource but I will pass! You are likely correct in that these bails or boxes are made up of thrift store pieces that no one wanted.
