Unstoppable Contender Scores 10 Points In 5 Events! | American Gladiators | Full Episode | S05E06

In the women’s competition, it’s Elizabeth Albright, an industrial relations specialist from Voorhees, New Jersey, against Cathy Marino, a firefighter from Costa Mesa, California. In the men’s round, it’s Lanny Ross, a cabinet maker from Los Angeles, California, vs. Sean Goodwin, a clothing salesman from Newport Beach, California.

Powerball: Contenders try to score points by depositing balls into baskets and avoid being tackled by three Gladiators.
Tug-O-War: The Gladiator and contender face off in a tug-of-war while standing on tilting platforms.
Assault: The contender must attempt to hit a target while a Gladiator shoots at them using a tennis ball cannon.
Whiplash: The contender and Gladiator each hold one end of a double triangle apparatus, known as the “dog bone”. They must each attempt to have the other either let go of the “dog bone”, or exit the ring.
Pyramid: Contenders have 45 seconds to reach the top of a pyramid, with two Gladiators blocking their path.
The Wall: The contenders attempt to scale a rock climbing wall, being chased by Gladiators.
Breakthrough & Conquer: The contender must face two Gladiators in this two-part event. First, they need to score a touchdown against the first Gladiator. Then the contender must wrestle the second Gladiator, forcing them to step outside of a ring.
The Eliminator: The Eliminator is an obstacle course spanning the arena, the winner of which advances to the next round of the competition.

Welcome to the official channel of American Gladiators, home of patriotic spandex and giant cotton swabs.
Beginning in 1989 for 8 seasons, this competition swept America. Two men and two women compete against each other and a roster of "American Gladiators". Events included, The Assault, Joust, The Wall, Breakthrough and Conquer, Hang Tough, Powerball, and many others, all culminating in the final event, "The Eliminator", a difficult obstacle course race. Every season there is a tournament to determine its "Grand Champion". For two seasons, there was an "International" competition taped in England where the champions from 4-6 countries competed similarly.

It’s always good to see Contenders fight until the end, even if you’re down by over 50 points. At least Lanny, he NEVER Gave Up, which shows how much of a Contender he really was, a Fighter until the end, especially with how he finished the Eliminator.

Sky’s the “limit”, except for one thing, the Tower of Power. If I had to picture which one is more of a Goliath, it’s definitely Sky, while Tower is definitely a King King

Some US Glads were pretty bad at the Pyramid...in the UK and AUS shows you would maybe see one or two contenders make it to the top each season. Here you see it in every episode.

In Season 3 quite a few contenders made it to the top in the UK especially with the men, Wolf was the only Gladiator who had a pretty good record in Pyramid in Season 3. In Season 4 it was pretty rare for people to get to the top.

I’m glad they got rid of the Stupid Rule on the Treadmill after this season. You Finish the Eliminator, if you Run Up the Treadmill, NOT on the Sides.

I don't blame them for going down to 2 from 3 (they went back to 3 in season 7), seeing how the UK basically forced this eliminator change on the US, and it was a LOT more difficult than the previous season, and didn't know if the contenders could handle it. But two contenders sitting at the treadmill for minutes on end does not make for good television.

23:08 Best thing abot this show, but poor Elektra looked gutted at the top of the pyramid after losing. Ice should really have been facing Cathy though. Elektra just didn't seem to have enough weight and upper body strength to pull off that move.

Me too, just never made sense sometimes. Elektra in this was way taller than the contender, but lighter than her, so was always going to struggle. Same happened in series 4. They had her in Conquer loads of times against contenders she never stood a chance against.

Cathy Marino got ten points in Whiplash.. BUT HOLD IT.. watch at 20:10 it looks very much like Cat used her free hand to two-hand pull Ice out a bit to setup the takeout.. should have been a DQ.. but I think she pulled a fast one there.
