The series follows families of Dingoes, Kangaroos, Koalas, Camels and Crocodiles over a period of time, showing their development, family structure, feeding habits and survival strategies.
The series was filmed over a number of years by some of the best wildlife filmmakers, mainly on location in the Australian Outback and nature reserves in different parts of the country. By using the best camera techniques available, including static, hidden cameras, underwater cameras and special night equipment, Untamed Australia has managed to capture the beautiful and unusual creatures and seasons of the vast Australian wilderness in amazing quality and unparalleled clarity. It looks at the many different animals that live in the range of habitats that make up this vast continent.

In a remote moment on a hiking trail, I was attacked by a dingo. Its alertness and ferocity took me by surprise, leaving me uncertain and at a loss for what to do. This experience created a feeling of fear and vulnerability in the presence of the wild.

Many of those camels look like bactrian-dromedary hybrids. I know both species of camel are loose in Australia; I wonder if there's been much feral cross-breeding.

@@djamalodjamal8891 Lol. Was this reply posted to the wrong comment? I'm lost... ^^; I was musing about camel crossbreeds. Though, to be fair, you're right - I'm a bit of a world-mutt myself. Never met an aboriginal Australian to ask them what they think of me though.

I am Aussie, I owned Camels in Australia. These are Dromidary Camels, one hump. To my knowledge there are no two hump Bactrium camels in Australia except in zoos. These are ferral animals released by their Afghany owners when camel trains were no longer needed for transport to central Aust. Nothing to do with Aborigines.

@@tomdungey8505 Thanks for the reply! It's neat to hear the insight from someone with first-hand experience. I can definitely see the predominant dromedary lineage in these - but there were some other traits that led me to wonder. Specifically, I noted that these Aussie droms seem to have shorter, stockier legs, a lower-postured neck, and a pronounced "mane" along the top of the neck and beneath the chin. Of course, these could all be the result of natural selection and limited (early on) gene pools - but they do look like what one could expect from an F-1 or F-2 dromedary-bactrian hybrid. I know that bactrians were imported back in the old days (though in limited scope, and all are now gone), and it led me to wonder if there was some genetic mingling, with the more numerous dromedaries leading to more genetic representation. Do you happen to know if any genetic studies have been done on these camels, to place them within the overall species/genus? Also, yeah, I was confused about the Aborigine comment too. ^^;

wow, all these epic names and the back story in such a matter of fact delivery recalls certain parts of the Old Testament! Yay and benjamin looked at his brothers and decided to eat. Ramlah came home from being out but did not return alone. Aramindi then walked down to the river, for he was thirsty but Nenantiri was too playful so he lie down and pretended to sleep. it was at that time that wendira splashed around because there was nothing better to do..

Bats are the most pleasant things to view. Time has arrived to think deeply about saving these rare and endangered species. If getting late they will be no more to be seen and our children will begin to think the existence of bats is a fictious and mithological story. So should take steps to arise awareness among people.

There are millions of them in Queensland in Ipswich there is a massive colony. They destroy the trees. They stink and are ugly creatures. They destroy fruit crops. Ok they are gods creatures but they are in no way rare and going extinct.

The only thing camels are good for is pet food and the only good dingo is a dead one. For those of you who have never been to Australia you are only shown what they want you to see. Those wild dogs are very well fed and probably feeding on a land owners sheep or poddy calves. There are millions of Roos running wild in Australia and unless numbers are checked they will eat themselves out of extinction. Who gives names to wild animals? The narrator knows very little about my country and is only reading a script.
