Yeah, Matt doesn't know much. Matt is the only character who can die before finding out about the Wendigo. Meanwhile, Jess is the only character who can die before finding out about the psycho. That's why, depending on whether Matt tried to save Emily twice and encounters the Wendigo or jumps to safety and doesn't, he can warn Jess about the psycho or the wendigo.

I didn't realize how bad it looks that Matt didn't know Josh was the killer. There's only two people left alive, Matt and Emily, and they have almost completely different stories. Emily says that there were Wendigo, Josh played a prank and died in the minds, and she was the only person who could verify that this was true. Matt was in the mines, doesn't know that Wendigo are Wendigo and only knows them as monsters, and believes that there may or may not be a surviving insane killer on the mountains. Their stories are so different but no one is there to confirm whose story is wrong or not, they have no Alibi.

Alexander Z. I don’t think it’s a flaw, it must be intentional by the developers. There are certain characters who only saw certain aspects of the horror on the mountain. And it leaves the player thinking that Matt doesn’t know about Josh being mentally unstable and the true identity of the monster, he must think the others, like Emily, are insane after the events of the game.

You see, if Matt survives Until Dawn he always encounters the Wendigo since you have to play the required scene where he escapes from the Wendigo in chapter 10. He still may not know that Josh is the psycho, but he definitely knows the Wendigo exists if he survives. Even so, he is the only character who can die before finding out about the Wendigo(if you kill him by making him fall of a cliff).

I kind of came up with the theory that some of thier deaths are symbolic. Sam: died from being impaled in the gut. ( because she didn't have the GUTS to stand up to the prank) Emily: She died from having her eyes impaled. ( Because she judges people too quickly with her eyes) Jessica: She got her jaw practically ripped off. ( Because she didn't verbally stick up for Hannah before, during, or after the prank) Mike: He got thrown and tossed around like rag doll, but he sacrificed himself for the surviving crew. ( but the only damage the wendigo technically did to like was throw him like a toy, or doll. Because he PLAYED WITH HER FEELINGS.) Matt: Again, one of his main deaths involve his jaw. ( Because he didn't verbally stand up for Hannah before, during, or after the prank) I really don't know why the others got killed the way they did, but those were the ones I came up with.

That's interesting. I only know that if Josh is the sole survivor, there are the cutscene with him only, eating the Flamethrower guy's head. No flashlights, no police officers. Because there are no one who can tell them about the curse. Also it seems like Handigo was the only monster in the mines, the rest was in the Sanatorium imprisoned by the Flamethrower guy.

The "he knows how devoted I am" is im reference to Matt exposing her as a cheater when they're on the tower. If their relationship isn't at the minimum and he chooses the confront options, he can expose her cheating on him, and it guilts her into liking him more and raising their relationship. It's actually quite rare to have that concerned scene without exposing her, so that's why it's there.

@@JoeL_1zrd Sam dies in the lodge. Chris has to die before the last chapter, in any way possible. Shooting Ashley, not being fast enough. Take your pick. Mike dies in the lodge too so that the lodge can blow up since Sam already died. Emily dies to the Wendigo before chapter 10, or gets crushed in the grinder thing. Josh dies to Hannah if Sam didn't find the clues, but that is the only way Josh can die. Jessica dies if you decide to run ahead as Matt. Matt can then hide the second time and survive. Ashley dies at the hatch thing if you open it. And that's how you only have Matt alive. Congrats! You have saved the one character that can die in so many areas. Everyone else is dead, including Matt's girlfriend and all of his other friends, but at least he's alive right?

I think that the police should interview Emily about what happened because she had more knowledge about the reality. She faced the Wendigo earlier than Matt (The short scene if Matt tries to save Emily with the flare gun doesn't count) and down in the mines she found many useful clues about the mystery about the twins` disappearance and the mining disaster. Also, she knows the real identity of the "psycho " because she made it out to the lodge where he revealed himself to the other people being there so they told her, she met the flamethrower guy and she knows much stuff about the Wendigos. The only thing Matt knows is about the fire tower, for which Emily knows more because she saw it all going down in the mines and she did all the stuff by herself even when they were together, the help as he heard her calling and a little contact with a "creature "about which he doesn't even know the name. The game designers are amateurs. I would make a better story in less time by myself.

Wait a second, if Matt and Emily are both alive and they do not hate each other, doesn't that mean Matt knows the truth? I mean, if their relationship is good and Matt jumps instead of trying to save her, doesn't that make her hate him? Because if Matt tries to save her and has the flare gun, the Wendigo will attempt to kill him but Matt shoots her (Hannah) and avoids death, and by doing that he will be aware of the monster (for example, if you avoid the Wendigo, Matt can tell Jessica "there's a maniac", while if Matt is attacked, that would be replaced by "there's a monster").

Matt never hates Emily, Emily can hate him :) She still can be concerned about him in credits even If you jump to safety, you just have to side with her during the fight with Jessica or you avoid it then be supportive to her at the tower.
