One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening. Trapped in the valley, they’re forced to relive the nightmare again and again - only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last. @@bruh-po6fz I think trying to save everybody by replaying and checking out what other choices lead to is a memorable part of the game so focusing on a single ending could be a bit dull I don't disagree about the atmosphere being different and such but having a time loop doesn't seem like it deviates too much from the game and I think it is *a* way for going about adapting it to a film if they manage to use it well.

- No Snow - No Mountain - No Lodge - Hannah and Beth's disappearance is replaced, as a reason for the movie happening at all. - No Mike, Sam, Josh, Jess, Emily, Matt, Chris, or Ashley. - Dr. Hill (confirmed to be the real Dr. Hill through the subtitles and actor confirmation) is some lonely outdoorsman, now. 0 Reason for him - Wendigos are somehow OFF Blackwood Mountain despite Jack (the flamethrower man in the game) stating that the Wendigo's spirit can only possess people who commit cannibalism on SPECIFICALLY Blackwood Mountain. - Since they can just come back to life, you don't feel like every character is walking on eggshells, walking that fine line between life and death. - By the looks of it, apparently transforming into a Wendigo is just a casual process now, where the host is just panicking not really turning into a monster, until full transformation, I'd assume. - There are OTHER monsters, excluding the wendigos, now. Which makes 0 sense when Until Dawn was based around Wendigos and the mining cave-in subplot being the reason for there being monsters AT ALL. This isn't Until Dawn. I doubt the writers even looked, or even had a TASTE of the actual game, cause I've never seen an adaptation butchered, so horribly. I've seen the live action Silent Hill films, and this is still worse.

There are also plenty of games that actually have the mechanic where the characters are aware they're in a time loop. But Until Dawn doesn't let you respawn and definitely doesn't have any time loops. You can't even replay a chapter if you messed up.

Seems like the first line is a VO line while the latter two lines are what's actually said. The implication is that she only asked if he recognized her and he already knew she was missing, which is suspicious because she never told him she was. It's still dumb because if someone walks up to you and says something along the lines of "have you seen this person," the reasonable conclusion to jump to is that they're looking for them because they're either missing or otherwise unavailable.

The hour glass reminded me of Dark Pictures visuals. But I’m shocked this is what they went with for a title. They do this a lot with new scripts that should be produced as stand alones but they read it and go with, “Oh, we can fit it into this IP!” Like continuations of “Die Hard” movies and other sequels, started off as a different movie and then it ended up getting adopted into the sequels. Shame. Most likely what happens here, the script got put before them, and they were like, “yeeeeeah, I’m thinking, Until Dawn?… yeah.”

As I understand it, it’s an in-universe story but with different characters in a different setting to “expand the game’s mythology.” Which could be really sick especially with Sandberg and Dauberman at the helm. I’m looking forward to it! Also in all honesty, it would have been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING to see a film adaptation of the original game, but that ship has sailed. Supermassive should’ve made a film directly after release so they could use the original cast. But here we are, a decade later. If they were to make a film adaptation now, they’d either have to recast (due to the cast members aging and not being able to realistically pull off high schoolers/college students) OR completely change that element entirely to accommodate the original cast. It’s not impossible by any means to make a direct adaptation, but again, I fully believe that ship has sailed. I’m just grateful someone is actually doing something with the franchise. Yeah, we got The Quarry, a spiritual successor, but that’s it’s own thing.

I'm iffy on this concept. I know people are like "they couldn't do a full adaptation of the game cause it already feels like a movie." So? Having a movie version of it would be sick, and the route the movie would go for characters' development and their deaths can be based on the majority of what players have picked during gameplay stats. It has a special place in my catalog because it’s the first game I bought and played when I bought my PS4. (The first console I bought myself) This has no reason being marketed as an Until Dawn film. They literally could have just named it something else. One last thing, why would they not get the actual actors from the video game to play the live action film role as well? Just.. a waste of money and time to everyone that worked on this.

I can answer that last part too old. These are kids in their early 20s all the actors are in their mid 30s to early 40s now. Wouldn't matter anyways cuz this isn't Until Dawn.

I wouldnt mind if the actors from the game made cameos but are you suggesting they play their characters in live action? Because that would be unrealistic. The actors are middle aged, why too old to be playing teenagers or twenty somethings. Also, some of them aren’t cheap to hire, especially Rami Malek and thats understandable if the movie’s budget is low.
