Other than that, lots of people are saying they're probably looking to make a sequel, so that scene was like a tease/opportunity. If the sequel does happen, it's from that scene, if the sequel doesn't happen, that is just a standalone scene.

she had a broken leg so i assume she could only crawl around while emily was running and jumping around like crazy in the mines. For instance there’s some QTES where emily has to jump over gaps on a bridge to make it further. Hannah could have never managed to jump in those conditions. Not to mention her glasses broke so she couldn’t even see that clearly. She also probably had way less of a survival instinct compared to emily and the others, throughout the whole prologue we’re taught how she’s very naive and not very swift when handling most situations. Ngl the original is way better the old opening pacing was so fast and got straight to the point enough to make you realize the game is going to be good the new one makes it a generic bad teen horror movie by adding fillers scenes that weren't important anyway and the fixed camera and cold atmosphere fits the game as a interactive game so much and what makes it unique and popular in the first place would be so much better if they just add those new scenes for the movie instead since this remake looks so dull such a downgrade this is why developers need to know when to stop remaking games that doesn't need a remake not everything needs to be 3rd person

So basically, to summarize the good and the bad : - Music Better : the new main theme (should have just been ADDED to the main menu or something) Worse : everything else about the soundtrack, plays way too much over quiet moments, somehow forgets to play over chase scenes, ultimately doesn't give the game life and soul like Jason Grave's score did, loses all charm and nuance - not to say Mark Korven's work is bad by any means, it would probably work amazing on its own or for a new game, just doesn't fit Until Dawn - Sound design Better : that cool wendigo sound at 5:17:07, also the footsteps really make it feel massive and creepy, ALSO the voices in Josh's head in chapter 10 really showcase his horrible mental health better Worse : pretty much every other audio choice in the game, some sounds are just downright missing, most feel dull and not impactful, jumpscares are weaker, wendigo screeches are gone and the cool menu sounds as well, atmospheric sounds don't feel as immersive - Visual style Better : most of the cast looks nicer and the wendigos look badass af Worse : choosing realism over stylized look, makes it at best forgettable and at worst uncanny when it comes to animation. - Lighting Better : not particularly better but the daylight in chapter 1 doesn't really bother me too much on its own, it's a different take on the game, still prefer the original tho Worse : removing the blue filter was a terrible decision, doesn't feel as unique, cold, dark and scary, which is impressive considering the game is, well, actually darker - Animation Better : wendigo movements are even more awesome and creepy Worse : some animations are way worse, like the sisters falling and Beth breaking her back, in the og it looked shocking, here it just looked goofy - Exploration Better : new areas are very cool, i love that you can go outside to find the totem in the prologue as well Worse : fixed camera felt creepier and more cinematic, but i guess it's not the worst thing they've changed - Story Better : the new josh ending is absolutely deserved, adding the exclusive Matt and Emily chapter is great, the few extra lines of dialogue are cool, kinda like the reworked prologue as well although it feels a bit weird at times, but the original did as well Worse : nothing, yay! (could've added some more Jess and Matt tho) Conclusion : Until Dawn still plays wonderfully on ps4, a remake was not needed

I would say the original looks less realistic, but still somehow 1000x better in its own style. Removing the blue color grading was such a dumb decision as well, now it looks way less scary and cold Edit : also wtf happened to jessica's face, she looks creepier than the wendigo

@@semperfi2314 I feel like it being blueish in the beginning didn’t make as much sense since I don’t think anyone would just be arriving at that time of night. I think it’s more realistic if they had the warm tones in the beginning in the game and have it blue as the game progresses. I do kinda agree with you about Jessica’s face, but I feel like her looking shell shocked in the end of the game fits what she was going through.

i’m so tired of this excuse. you don’t have to be a game developer to be disappointed with a game. this remake is nothing but a cash grab. “you can’t make a game” isn’t an excuse that magically exonerates the game of any criticism. i don’t need to be a game developer to call a cash grab what it is. there is no reason to buy the remake. it looks worse in many areas, runs worse, and has far more bugs in it than the original, and are selling it to you for $60. the original game runs at 60fps on PS5, the remake runs at 30
