Thank you loads Rose…I’m so pleased you enjoyed the song! I enjoyed doing it but it took me a wee while to record the backing! I’d get part way through, hit some wrong notes & have to start over again…..umpteen times! However, I got there in the end & I was happy with it. 😁💕🎶x

I'm so enjoying listening to all your videos Joyce. You're inspiring me to take well known songs, perhaps play them more slowly, in other words, make them your own! The penny's dropped! I play sopranos and concerts but that looks like a baritone with its lovely deep tone. Suits your style and voice. I'm tempted to get one....Looking forward to more songs. Best wishes.

You’re very kind Lisa, thank you so much! It’s good to know you’re feeling inspired to make your own versions of songs. When I decide on a song, first of all, I have to LIKE the song, that’s important, & then I’ll listen to the original singer/group & either find a copy of the lyrics or copy them down from the video. Then I’ll work on key/chords within my vocal range & play around with strumming/picking until I find the way I want to do it. It can take a wee while but most times, I’m happy with the outcome. BTW…the uke I’m using on this video is a Super Tenor which has the normal tenor scale but a slightly bigger body which makes the tone a bit deeper though not as deep as a baritone. 💖🎶

Hi Maureen, thanks for your lovely comment & I hope you slept well after yer music "fix"! 😂 I’m sure my pal Frankie will be happy to hear you’re a regular visitor to "it’s Saturday Night"! It was a very strange feeling recording it while Frankie did his stuff in Dundee & I did mine here in East Lothian. Music files sent back & forwards for Frankie to put the whole thing together on his computer. He’s more knowledgeable about the technical stuff & has more "gadgets" at his place! We were more than happy how things turned out. He has done a great version of The Proclaimers "Sunshine on Leith" & if I can copy the link, I’ll send it to you. @@joycefleming1422 Hiya Joyce, Frankie sent me the Sunshine on Leith song when i commented on his music .Thank you though Joyce. He is such a good singer and also very good at playing the ukelele too. I love listening to you both singing together, and, it was funny Frankie sitting at his piano waiting to play the notes on It's Saturday night. It's 12.07 am and i'm still awake but will have to listen to 3 or 4 of your songs before i try to drop off. I can't not smile when i'm listening to you and Frankie's singing, and, i also love watching Frankie's dog Alan. He is such a clever dog. Thank you for the music Joyce. @@joycefleming1422 Thank you for sending me the link to the Sunshine On Leith song. I was wrong. Frankie sent me the I'm On My Way proclaimers song. I had to listen to Sunshine On Leith again though after you sending it to me. My daughter used to stay in Edinburgh but moved to Dunfermline, and my husbands granny used to stay in Easter Road. I saw your comment to Frankie about you getting dizzy when he was driving into Edinburgh to do the Sunshine On Leith song.It was funny. It was a beautiful version of the song, and, i had to ask him if it was a violin because my husband argued with me that it was a Cello, but i knew it wasn't. xx
