Of course, Melissa is doing what all people do, trying to assure ourselves of His Salvation. What is NOT MENTIONED is the fact Jesus is a Person, Who loves you, who thought about you long before He made the earth, and who knows every thought we have, knows our intentions, KNOWS ALL. By His Grace ALONE we are saved. So, while Melissa like myself being a scientist can be TOO TECHNICAL, the bottom-line is Grace is why we have ANY LIFE AT ALL and if we simply trust and believe Jesus, He can know us. While again, the Cross is EVERYTHING, the idea that people B.C. were not as saved as anyone today, is human reasoning. We cannot know the mind of Holy God.
