Being gay isn't a choice isn't a sickness and isn't a illness

It is a choice. The fact that you choose to identify yourself with its labels.

@@vuyox that's because of the discrimination. What about male and female because they are two that doesn't mean it's a choice.

@@vuyoxI can choose to identify as human, that doesn't mean me identifying myself as such a choice of me being human. One chooses to label themselves a homosexual because labels are social constructs by their nature, but it is describing a tangible population of people with this attraction that exists within the real world, and that person labels oneself a homosexual does not choose to be one, it just is. So while it is a socially constructed descriptor of a type of attraction one person expresses, the attraction itself is not socially constructed as it cannot be changed.

You think? I think it's standard for people to question choices. "Being gay" is utterly a choice, firstly, the title of being gay is a sociopolitical label constructed within the powers of heteronormity for the identification of queer folk. If you say you are gay that is a choice, you went out of your natural origin of existence and endorsed an external term that identifies you with not just your sexual orientation but also which suggests your "lifestyle" accordingly to what the identifier (non-queer bodies) chooses to perceive you. You choose to be seen as 'gay' by conforming to the patriarchal standards served to you. You could also choose to be simply you, the being within whose power is beyond sociopolitical identities. "Straight" people do not concern themselves or even shape their identity based upon sexual orientation, but simply indulge consciously or unconsciously in sexuality. That is freedom. Then why am I to bother with all this nonsense when I could simply CHOOSE be me without descriptions, I need not to explain myself nor whom I choose to become to no one.

I must admit. As a child I was abused sexually by women. And for a while, I thought and believed I was a lesbian, thankful for self awareness. Becoming an adult has made me realise that I am actually not a lesbian. That being said, I believe some people’s sexual orientation might be affected by childhood sexual trauma. Not saying everyone who is homosexual is due to childhood trauma, but I believe a percentage of it might be attributed to that.

Also straight people who go into abusive relationships may have been abused growing up.
@michaelregis1015

If it makes you feel any better, there isn't sufficient evidence in the scientific literature that suggests the childhood sexual abuse, prepetrated by same-sex abusers, can cause children to become homosexual. It's a common myth.

Thanks. People can’t expect 8 billion different people to all have the same feeling and feelings. Like imagine being blue. But red is your favorite color. You wanna be red, but everyone shakes you for having that simple thought. People do be oppressive and stupid, and will believe anything negative about anything

Homosexuality is God telling us that life is not just about birthing but it is also about the arts and marvelous brain creations. Alan Turing (great mind; launched digital age; saved thousands of lives if not millions by decoding Hitler's Enigma Machine), Alexander the Great, Leonardo Da Vinci...Tchaikovsky are just a few examples of great homosexuals that have made great contributions to the arts to the digital age and to our lives. God also launched at us germ warfare (viruses, bacteria, parasites) to keep the human population in check. Alan Turing alone is worth over a million "Christians" in terms of human value and morality. Religion, its politics and big oil have contributed to global warming and the planet's eventual destruction by the adage of, "have all the kids God will provide" even when the religious victim or ignorant has no food or clothing. In other sects, men have multiple wives like the Mormons. If the concern is gay sex (man to man), over 90% of married man have either penetrated their wives anally or have fantasized about it, according to our medical study of the subject. The time has come to discard the Bible's genesis that amounts to no more than just bad literature. Scientists have shown us our true genesis based on facts; in the process, these great scientists have won many Nobel Prizes. Has the Bible won a Nobel Prize? Is the Bible accepted at public schools? The answer is a resounding “NO” to both. I must question the individual who chooses to believe something that is utterly false like the stories of Adam and Eve (incest between brothers and sisters), Noah's Ark (incest again), Lot being made drunk and raped by his daughters to have child with "father" and that women come from a man's rib. This is just rubbish. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, nothing is known about Jesus's first thirty years of life (we can discard the nativity scene); Jesus was illiterate; he never wrote a single word.' If so many groups have "Jesus" like the KKK, Hitler, the National Rifle Association, the White Supremacists and other questionable groups that like to make war, why don't we discard a Jesus that is so different to so many and just pray to God who gave us Creation and Evolution that is all-inclusive. Religion is a fictional beast that is profitable but must die for humanity to reach a higher level of reasoning and conscience. "Christian" George Bush had read in his Bible, "you shall not kill; you shall not life," but at the sound of the trumpet he invaded Iraq for its oil killing a Million Muslims (though Bush has always claimed to be "pro-life). For two thousand years, we have heard the same lies from religion that half of the population has come to believe something that has no facts to stand on. Be free...just go to God and feel internally spiritual. Yes, the all-inclusive God we are yet to discover, but science may one day. Carl Sagan: “Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.“ God? Religion is a business. God is not and He (She or They) is FREE! But you must learn to live within the confines of your conscience. (Jesus did not die for our sins, as sinners like to say; he simply died.)(Homosexuality has not been done away by evolution (as it should) because He is important in God’s divine plan for this often-malevolent society. (‘The bird sings, not because it has a song. It sings because’ it has a message to give to all of humanity that has all to do with God.)

I've yet to hear them debunk the myth about how regardless of where you live cuz I live in America and I noticed that gay men will opening it on a man that they know and they heart of hearts is straight heterosexual not gay and the man will tell them such I am not gay and instead of respecting his boundaries they create a narrative of saying he's homophobic despite not saying anything hateful anything derogatory or disrespectful if there is a community that you involve yourself in why go after people that you know have no interested and you know they have no in you and your lifestyle and then choose to want to destroy them because you can't get your way but down sexually because that's all it really boils down to how can I be supportive of a person that doesn't respect me I'm trying to be more civil and that's hateful but I notice in the lgbtq community that if I just say I'm not gay or I'm not into men that's misconstrued as gay bashing

@@manman2588 that's because you are not rebuking the act but the person. If hitting on and harassing people is the crime, then you should rebuke the crime irrespective of whether it's parpraitated by homosexuals or heterosexuals. The fact that you only care about this being wrong when it's parpraitated by homosexuals but want to ignore it when it's parpraitated by heterosexuals, then it clearly shows that you are HOMOPHOBIC.
