Harloff Rather than just "kind," I think it would be more accurate to say Hufflepuffs are loyal, hard workers, sweet, loving souls, good at FINDing things (like finding the good in other people). Thomas is a total Hufflepuff. Joan had said in other videos that they are a Ravenclaw-- that Hogwarts house is known for intellectual curiousity, a love of trivia and general knowledge, a talent for research and writing and riddles/puzzles, and an appreciation for logical problem solving. Doubt you read this, but I just wanted to say that I've surprised myself with how happy I am to learn you're a Chem-E. We don't have the best rep in the creativity department, even among engineers, and seeing how thoroughly you buck that stereotype makes me more confident in my own creative pursuits. As a gay guy as well, it surprises me that this is the representation that matters more to me. I know this "reveal" was decidedly unplanned, but thanks anyway :) Keep it up!

Thank you. I was about to say something similar so here it is...I'm 13 so obviously I don't entirely know what I'm talking about, but as a person who has always strived for "greatness" doing whatever will get me the grade: swimming, dance, karate, archery, you name it. My favorite thing by far however is chemistry. I memorized the periodic table when I was nine and the last two years have helped out at discovery place or most recently did a science month long camp. I also do musical theater and acting clubs though and my parents are always telling me to "choose a passion". Thank you Thomas for being the most helpful person on KZbin. (and the most compassionate), telling me I can do both and still manage to be my parents version of success and my version of happiness.

I really appreciate even at his statement "I'm a chemical engineer". It may seem trivial to other people, but as a someone studying Chem Eng in uni I am just proud to have someone as creative, talented and enthusiastic as Thomas. I have a passion for arts and painting so I could relate to him. Weirdly enough, I suddenly felt motivated knowing that me and him are pretty similar and it gave me hope that I could achieve something wonderful. I'm at the top of my grade in high school, and I tutor in math and writing, so whenever I tell someone I want to go into music, I always get, "What's your backup?" Everyone wants me to either go into the medical field, be an accountant, or be a publisher. Yeah, I enjoy those things, but music is my passion and I wish to share that with the world and I'm ready to dedicate my life to that. It makes me mad whenever they say I shouldn't go into music, even though everyone knows I love band. It also makes me mad because I'm also in drama and musical theater and they're okay with me saying I'm going into acting, but they're not okay when I say I'm going into music.

Family story time: my great grandma and great grandpa knew each other when they were in grade school, they met when they were 8 years old. When they were 10 years old, they decided to start a relationship, but obviously, because they were ten, their parents didn't approve. They would send each other letters in the mail, and each one would be signed with I love you. But, when their parents saw the letters, they said that the two weren't allowed to say that to each other. My great grandparents still wanted to say I love you to each other, so they started signing their letters with "8" because of the eight letters in I love you. They ended up getting married later in life and to this day most letters, emails, and cards written among my mom's side of the family are signed with either "8" or "9" (9= we love you) and it's also a lucky number in the family because they did end up getting married.

he's confirmed it multiple places too, but most recently in the Having Pride video he put out in June. there are pics on tumblr of him kissing men, tumblr posts he has made about loving men... people will still insist he is bi or pan or even straight because his non-male fans want to enjoy the hope that he could romantically love them one day. it must be tiring for Thomas. i'm sure that's part of why he didn't come out in an unequivocal way until recently... people feel entitled to know everything about his personal life. i'm pretty excited to find out he works in the hard sciences honestly. what a multi-talented guy!!! slay!
