Welcome to the Wasteland Builders. We are back in Zephon, this time with a Voice faction, the Untold Prophet. I have the least experience with the Voice side of the game, so this will be an interesting one.
This one is going to be a faster game, as not only will I be explaining a bit less, but I have also increased the animation speed from the base 50% to 60%. Let me know if you have any feedback there.

Zephon is a really great game, but can be hard to get started with, especially if you do not have experience with Proxy Studio's previous title: Warhammer 40,000 Gladius: Relics of War. This will be a slow play series, where I try and really explain my thinking as I play through a game as the Emulated Mind.

Since you have a bunch of idle engineers, it might be a good idea to research bunkers (human). They can secure adjacent outposts and are a great way to make use of your excess minerals.

They have three heavy machine guns too if he wanted to dip into the human damage boost tech for them.

With the patch today our zombie spawner will also lock down outposts!

The Dark Vassael are good at lowering the morale of the wardens and can soak up damage. Having a few of them putting down nests to also soak up warden attacks is good. The other great aspect about the Dark Vassael is that in two turns you can create that nest and the next turn send out 3 deformities. When I played Tribunal I would use a few of them to assault cities, letting the deformities to soak up the initial damage from the city and any units that I hadn't seen yet. The higher the Dark Vassael levels up, the higher the nest and deformities will be. Don't forget that units killed by deformities turn into deformities.

Great game! Also, I think the False Speaker is still damaging units around him. Check the status of any units next to him for the red circular symbol.

The aura of the false prophet from the Archai is still there, check you adjacent units not the Archai itself.

Didn't you have an item in the shop for +50% damage taken debuff, you can use that with the cannon dudes to probably drop cities or titans easily.

Okay, I think you fail to grasp something, that the Archai's damage reduction buff spell ONLY applies to the HEX you cast it on. Not the UNIT in said hex. In other words, moving your unit out of the hex, like say your Assassin hero, doesn't do much beyond wasting a cast if you don't put another unit in that hex. EDIT: I see you now realized it in the video. Still, it is important to read all the tooltips regarding the abilities to make sure you haven't forgotten any key elements of what a unit can do.

I did finally catch that at some point, but you are right I was missing that. There is a hero in Gladius (Crypttech) that is very similar, but it is a buff. I think my brain was just mapping the two together.

@@BabelBuilder Never played Necrons in Gladius, most I do is Guard, Space Marines, Ad Mech, and SoB's on occasion, and also the Tau. But I think in a lot of ways that Proxy studios knew about this sort of things players did in Gladius and actively made sure to change it where possible when making Zephon precisely to address such cheesing mechanics.

I totally dislike that disbanding deformities grants xp to the enemy! I've resorted to moving them away from the front line before they go away to try to avoid feeding the enemy. Doesn't feel right.

I think that the explosion ability at least should not grant exp. Granting exp for disbands was a huge balance change in Gladius, but I think it needs some more finesse here.

Haha, yeah. Its a combo of trying to read in front of people on the spot and struggling a bit with the brightness of my key lights that I need for the greenscreen to work. Nothing for it but to keep practicing. I'll keep getting better! I understand why Raptor wears his sunglasses on stream now, lol!
