He is sorry for what took place, he is sorry for the crime. He still cannot say he is sorry he killed her mother and her siblings. It is like he expects her to out of the blue accept his apology for wrecking her life. He is too indiscreet. He should be grateful he escaped the noose, not talking about getting out after taking people's lives because of his jealousy.
