DON'T MOVE HERE WE DON'T WANT YOU. Washington County is a beautiful area, or at least it was 10yrs. ago. With half the US wanting to move here we have lost much of our beauty. Greedy developers have control of our county, and they are quickly turning our county ugly. I hate how bad traffic is, the depleting of our water sources, and the removal of our lava rocks. All of this development has caused our mountains to be filled with homes costing around 1 to 5 million dollars. I have seen open land spreading for miles be turned into communities. I have lived here for 40+ years, and I have had ancestors who have lived here who made this a great place to live. As more people move here, we will lose what empty land we do have until to get from one place to another will take hours to do. I grew up loving to drive now it scares me. PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T ANYONE ELSE MOVE HERE. St. George history is being erased by the newcomers who move here disrespecting our LDS heritage. We are nicknamed DIXIE for a reason. STOP trying to erase our DIXIE name and just accept that you moved here and just embrace this place for what it is.

My first year here I hardly noticed the cold, but now I have adjusted and I do find it surprisingly cold at times.

Crowded, horrible traffic, poor infrastructure, backwards government, endless greedy developers, rapidly rising cost of living, controlling Mormon Church, rampant tourism, growing crime....So what is not to like...Southwest Utah has lost its appeal! Think twice before moving here.

I agree with almost all you have said. We do have a controlling government here. As a member of the church of Jesus Chirst of latter-day saints we are not controlling at all. I do take offense to that part of your statement. You do you and we will do us.
