Am I the only one who thinks that Chinese make the best visual historical dramas. Its because they look so fantastically beautiful and very neat that's it's so eye catching. In some cases they have better historical dramas than any other Asian country.

I have a good reason for your thought. China have thousand of years of existence as imperial state in light of this, They can make lots of stories out of there cultural history. They can involve the royalty characters and Its a common fact throught out the world that they do have better food, (european explorers said this in 14th and 15th century), better clothes ( the europeans wrote this in early times) better jewelries, house decors , books are printed better inventions etc. So they can extract from all of these and can put anything in there series and most impoetantly, its believable that historically all those fixtures and customes existed during those times. The western world doesnt even have silk to wear they just discovered silk later on. The. Clothes alone of those early times is already a good source for the custome designer. That’s my take of your opinion i hope it helped

Beautiful, many tender moments, even in moments of rage you can see ML tried to restrain his feelings but the more he tried, it betrayed his heart. Love this drama so much. Wish they do another historical drama together. Great Wei and Great Song did exist around 456 and like there was a song princess that like her many male companions. I have learned abit form this movie. The ancient names of these city. Another way to teach youth today of the history without it being boring and a drama or movie will stimulate curiosity. China has rich history and diverse group

The king was poisoned by his mom and death after RongZhi left. In the end, he knew that RongZhi was a great viceroy and didn't intend to betray him. (his mom did) His wife was executed according to royal rules. RongZhi gave up all the power and was poisoned by his sister( king's mom). But he was the smartest guy on the planet he took only half of the poison capsule. He faked his death to let the princess know that he loved and wanted her not the power. The princess went back to "Song" with sadness ( she thought RZ was death because of her) RongZhi also went back to the old palace where he used to live with Princess and waited for her. He knew princess will come back He pretended to be blind and amputated due to poison to gain the princess's sympathy and forgiveness It's a good ending. The princess forgave him and loved him again. ❤❤ Never bored watching it over and over again.❤

If you watch all the episodes an old man narrates the story of the two untouchable lovers one is he comes to her palace after the scheming he started to really lover her in the second she comes to his palace in a arrange marriage after all the scheming over he fall for her. So in the both part they remain as untouchable lovers

They are actually two different stories with the same names and leads. Do you remember where the story teller told the audiences about the first story? Since the first one had sad ending, the story teller decided to tell another new story with the same characters. This is based on a novel. However I did feel a bit confused with the ending. The long hair Rong Zhi came back to her. It's best if this drama only stayed with one plot. I really like this drama but there are a lot of confusions. This drama should have gotten better. By the way Rong Zhi is 😍 ~~~

They both forgotten their past. I know that Rong Zhi’s sister the Dowager made him took or ate something that made him forgot his love for Chuyu. I just don’t know how Chuyu forgotten hers. They didn’t show it. But at least they fell in love to each other again the second time around. Also, why there’s no kissing scene? Is it because Song Weilong is only 19-20 when they did that drama?
