I have the same battery that came with my flashlight. I dropped it on the floor, battery died, but inside it then felt like a shakeweight. Turns out they use 18650 and put them in a 26650 shell to pass them off as a more expensive battery. We both got ripped off.
@TheCleaner6969 Жыл бұрын
I seen your flashlight has individual cells where as mine has one. I've been making battery packs & fixing things a long time & recent I made a pvc pipe sleeve for 2 - 18650 cells since 26650 are hard to get. After cycling the 18650 I tried them in an Amazon flashlight very similar to yours. The light was off but as soon as I touched the butt cap to the 2 - 18650 it turned on & I smelled something burning. The original heat shrunk double 26650 cells still light the flashlight but the button no longer cycles the modes. My voltages on the 18650 are 3.58v each & they are Sanyo cells purchased from Liion Wholesale. Everything looks right for specs. I seen others use the adapter sleeves that came with the same flashlight but only 3 modes instead of 5 & it worked. This isn't rocket science so what do you think could've happened? The flashlight worked fine with the original battery stack & will still light dim with the original pack but the 2 - 18650 just smell like something is burning. I never came across this. Any ideas?

Thanks for the review. It's hard work trying to find a torch/flashlight that is bright. Most of the desriptions online have false lumens ratings. I have a 2000 lumens cree light which is the brightest I've ever seen, so to see products claiming to have 90000 lumens or even 10000 lumens, they would probably be brighter than the sun. Although the ratings on this light are again false, It's still brighter than my current set up ,so from this review, I will give it a try.

I have xhp90 flashlight. Need descent source of light while doing pre-use vehicle inspection. On average this is taking about 10 minutes walking around the unit tractor and trailer. It's didn't took me long to notice very serious issue with regards heat dissipation. Basically, after less than 2 minutes, part of the flashlight just between diode and power switch becomes so hot that is almost impossible to hold it in hands. Another thing is that battery closest to source of heat seems to loose voltage much faster than the other battery. Of course it's needless to say that first battery getting very hot which in this circumstances is just inevitable. My overall experience and opinion is that although flashlight produces hell lot of light, the issue with excessive heat in my opinion makes it worthless. I honestly regret buying this thing.

Those 26650 cells are stacked end to end (series) producing a nominal 7.4 volts. How is it that a 5V USB input can charge them? I have the same torch, 26650's provided are wrapped together end to end and not individual cells. There is a hard to discern entry in the manual to not use two batteries as voltage will be too high and burn out the controller board. Mine also did not come with 18650 adapters but mentions the use of 18650's as an option. Have any insight on this? I will say that the unit is quite bright as you point out. Thanks.

well seems like a good deal . I'm going to get one maybe 2 for funny enough like you said for when I'm on my boat and also for camping. I like rechargeable tech when it comes to camping. I could keep 10 or so spare charged batteries and it would be really convenient. I have a nice cabin tent and we camp sometimes where there is no electric. so we use alot of rechargeable stuff as far as lanterns and lights, Bluetooth speakers, tablets, phones and things like that . I have a couple nice AGM batteries and an inverter for charging stations and air pumps. it makes it nice at night when your around the tent hanging out. so this flashlight is right up my alley. and like you said for the money a decent light for sure. thanks for the review.

I may be wrong in how these are wired, be it battries in series or do the take the parallel voltage and supply it to driver... if it tested at 4 amps but the volts here are 2 x 3.7v = 7.4v which if multiplied by 4 amps equals 29.6 watts, then the chinese lamp is doing on par with the cree ratings... I know on High, this gets Hot and quick! you wont get heat unless have good amps and alot of watts.. Any really bright light will get hot on high.

One question is the heat it gives off. I bought this actual flashlight and everything he says it does. But the issue has is the heat. Mine has two battery options. one main blue battery and the small rechargeable batteries.

Do you know what if they actually put the real stats of the flashlight I think they would sell more. When a guy like me sees 90,000 lm. For $35 right away I know it’s a lie and I’m thinking it’s junk so I don’t even look at it. Now some KZbinrs have been reviewing this flashlight and seeing the obvious know it’s not 90,000 lm but it’s really pretty bright and for $35 it’s a very good deal well I would never have known that because of their lies and I just passed right over the flashlight don’t even bother looking at it one thing I really don’t like is getting the junk batteries. Buying 226 650s is about anywhere between 18 and $27 which adds a substantial amount to your purchase which is supposed to already have batteries. Yeah batteries at work not garbage

I found the Chinese brand Epileds with the same part number put out around the same brightness. 4000 lumens is more than plenty I carry an 800-lumen flashlight around the house that is good enough for me. I already tested the 16-core XHP110 it was around 5500 lumens, I was disappointed in the 16-core because the 9-core with part number XHP-100 puts out 6700 lumens. If you want insane brightness get a less expensive XHP-100 9 core. Buy your favorite brand of battery not what the vendor sells. Vendors always sell junk batteries. I buy Liitkala because their advertised current is not far from what I tested. I get 2900 mAh on their 3400 mAh 18650 battery. Within 20% is good for me on batteries. For around $2.50 2900 mAh is very good, it goes completely dead in about 3 hours and 45 minutes with an XHP-70 LED. I get a volume discount on the batteries. Watch out for fake batteries because there are fake Chinese Liitkala brands, it's best to look at tests in customer reviews before buying. I post what I measure in component tests in the vendors' customer reviews.
@troytaylor19132 жыл бұрын
You all make sure the batteries are charged evenly before using because lithium batteries in series should be controlled by a battery management system (BMS) and flashlights like this don't have a BMS. Don't put a charged battery in series with a dead battery or the charged battery might get overcharged.

i think that battery can be drained to 3v intead of 3.6?
@LordDouglas833 жыл бұрын
Sort of. A good lithium ion cell will discharge to 3.0v on the charger before the charger turns off and the cell will rebound 0.1-0.2v. A cheap Chinese cell with very high ir will have a poor discharge and when the charger turns off at 3.0v the cell will rebound to whatever voltage. In this case about 3.6v each cell. The batteries are junk but work enough to keep. Hope this answers you question. ***Discharge was done at 1A.***
