Yep! I do remember reading about that somewhere years ago. They used lots of surplus weapons and equipment in the original trilogy

In the mid 1970's, I use to see M3 helmets for sale $15-$30. The navel helmets could be picked up for under $20.

So why don't the airmen wear the talker helmet or vice versa? Isn't that more practical?
