I'm a 1950s born woman who had 6 years of her state pension stolen by successive governments and my arguments are exactly the same as yours. Although I am now drawing my state pension, I still work on a self-employed basis to supplement it. I am therefore a UK taxpayer, as are many other pensioners, a fact that Starmer and others conveniently sweep under the carpet. It's disgraceful that taxpayers' money is sent abroad and also used in this country on people who have contributed nothing, yet those who have worked and paid into the system all their lives are penalised, maginalised and treated like dirt. These decisions are morally reprehensible.

@tinahill5528 changing the age was the lesser evil. The real evil was when Labour came to power in 1997, is Gordon Brown abolished tax relief on dividend income in pensions schemes. This made final salary pensions too expensive and companies started closing them down. Just over 50% of investments were in UK companies this has now fallen to just 4% losing billions.

After doing a paper round whilst still at school, I then got a weekend shop job as soon as I was old enough (14.) As soon as I left school, I got my first 'proper' job at the age of 17 and have been an NI and UK taxpayer ever since. Even though I am now finally in receipt of my state pension, albeit 6 years late, I still work on a self-employed basis to supplement it. I am therefore STILL a UK taxpayer who is sick to death of paying for all and sundry from other countries, who have never contributed a penny, instead of helping our own people first.

Sometimes , I wonder if it is worth living like this. I had to finish work early due to a very bad car accident, I was hit by a lad on his phone. So I get ESA. And PIP. I am glad in one way I lived through the black outs an my dad on short time, I can make a small meal. To be honest, over the last few months, I have wondered if living is worth it.

It's a remarkable day in Parliament when Dianne Abbott, of all people, comes across as one of the most sensible people in the room. I am a WASPI, I was born in 1962, I missed out by a month, to get my pension at 60. It was said we would get it at 65, well it is now 67 I have to wait for my pension. Honestly, I am so angry. I have worked all my life, for what. I have ill health and may not make it to 67, then who gets it. I cannot see the point of being here any more.
