The revell knife is a great blade . Feels firm to grip so makes it safer to use.

Nice rundown there. A tip with the drill bits is to not leave them too close to the edge of the table - even if you find them all on the floor, ordering them again by size is pretty much impossible! 😅

sprue cutters are an extremely valuable tool and it really doesn't matter about the fit but the effectiveness of the cutter. I just purchased the God hand cutters and although they are expensive they really make a hell of a difference. No more flying parts, the ease of the cutting of the sprues are like a hot knife through butter. I have thrown out my other cutters because nothing else beats these cutters.

A wee tip I was given for applying very small parts to a model. Keep one fine point craft knife just for this purpose. Stick the tip of the knife gently into the part enough to hold it, apply the adhesive and hold the part in place on the model until adhesion has occurred; usually about 30 seconds. Gently pull the knife away and presto, part in place no fuss - ! Any impression the knife point leaves will hardly be noticed especially if it's done pre painting. 😁

Thats a great tip.

The knife you said that you like (plastic black & red handle) looks the same that comes in a kit for $15 USD at Harbor Freight. They have a few model building tools for cheap:Airbrushes, tweezers, knives, matriculating magnifier etc. All China made I’m sure but good for someone looking to save some money

One of the things I use is a dental tool kit, for all sorts of jobs, such as fine filling.

Sprue cutters are a gift from the Lord! Can’t begin to imagine how my dad managed to get results with half a razor blade… Otherwise, a basic scalpel (good enough for surgeons to slice you open with) and a set of decent files (mine are my dad’s and most are older than me) will get you through most kits.
