I needed to hear that about tilting. Thank you. It made me realize that there’s no point in complaining or tilting. I need to just relax and accept that some people are just better than me

Actually sometimes it's not even that they are better than you, sometimes you just don't know how to fight them. A Samus spamming B button at the ledge probably isn't better than you, but you still lose because you don't know how to avoid the projectiles. Also online is bullshit
@ashx87722 жыл бұрын
It’s helped me to think that it’s less about who’s better and more about who’s playing with more fire for lack of a better word . They’re playing better but they’re just turning up , are you turning up if not oh well if you are well turn up harder then they do next time

I've also always been the guy that played tons of hours with friends, and it doesn't feel like I got much better from it. It's also not just playing "for fun", we go pretty hard and always try to win, but I think that's part of what held us back, since we're not even risking trying to learn new things.

i know this video is old but hearing you say i really shouldnt be thinking to much and instead playing based on memory and only pay attention to small things made me reliefed. i thought most players played while actively thinking about alot of things. glad to know.

The way to deal with tilt as take a 15-minute break. Watch a Smash video. Smoke some weed. Deep breathing. You just need to stop playing for a time to collect your thoughts
@bestsnowboarderuknow2 жыл бұрын
All tilting is from thinking we're better than we really are. Everyone loses. Even MKleo. Look at him when he loses, he shakes his head up and down like he's saying "good shit" no matter what it was. That is, for me, the key. No matter what they did, I say good shit out loud.

If you keep getting tilted it's because smash is way too important to your ego and you don't have enough of other things in your life that give you a sense of self-respect. Nurture your friendships, find a partner, develop another hobby or two, exercise regularly, get a job etc. Smash is fun but don't let it be your life, it's way not worth it. Even the pros aren't in particularly enviable positions in life.

Bro I have to ask how do you deal with bullshit in this game? Like I just fought a pikachu and he kept on spamming neutral air and dash attacks but every time I go to punish I’m the one that gets punished. So I guess my real question is how do you deal with the pikachu match up?
@Boredom_Incarnate3 жыл бұрын
Generically I find just taking a breath when you start to feel salty helps. Just assume you're going to lose and experiment. Take the opportunity and treat them as a particularly-coded AI and just go in the lab, really try anything and everything that might work. You'll start to pick up on how what they're doing is weak or how your reactions are enabling it to be busted against you.
@scoop923 жыл бұрын

I’m confused ? Colinies isn’t a pro ? He does ok in online tourneys but never did good offline . Based on these facts does that mean I’m a pro ? Lol I make top 8 on every tourney , so I’m going to call myself a pro since we’re going to use the word so loosely.

Anyone who has ever made money off of playing smash competitively (cash prize, content creation doesn't count) is technically a professional.
