I absolutely love this narration. The philosophy of the era that was echoed in the decor is fascinating, and thank you for speaking to that.

Although you have beautiful photos of rooms, these are not authentic colonial colors, nor shades ! Crimson, grass green, bright yellow, & turquoise are not calm earth colors. The interiors details in your pic's are of homes of the very wealthy, of which would have used the most expensive pigments to show off their wealth. { take a look at George Washington's home.} The only people of this time period who would use calm earth tones were the middle class, the poor used white wash, and not because it looked pretty, but for utilitarian purposes. Your interiors are of the early 21st century. All beautiful, but a very far cry from Colonial.

Thank you for your insightful comment! You're absolutely right that the range of colors and decor details used in Colonial homes varied widely based on social status and available resources. Wealthier homes indeed had access to more vibrant pigments and could afford to showcase their wealth through more elaborate interiors, as seen in historical homes like George Washington's. Our intention was to blend the traditional Colonial aesthetic with modern sensibilities, creating a look that's accessible and appealing to today's viewers. However, your point about the authenticity of colors and details is well taken. We appreciate your feedback and will strive to provide a more nuanced view of historical accuracy in future content. Thanks for watching and for your valuable input!

A few "traditional" interiors, but nothing that would be called "colonial," neither the funky revival of the '40s and '50s, nor an actual period recreation. Totally missed the mark here.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We understand that the interpretation of "Colonial" can vary greatly, encompassing everything from authentic period recreations to mid-century revivals and modern adaptations. Our aim was to present a blend that might inspire contemporary homes with a nod to Colonial influences. However, we acknowledge that our approach may not have fully aligned with expectations for a more defined or historically accurate portrayal. Your feedback is invaluable as it helps us refine our focus and ensure our content is as engaging and informative as possible for all our viewers. We'll certainly take your observations into account for future videos. Thank you for watching and for contributing to the conversation!
