Unveiling the Double Width Double Weave Blanket

It's finally done! In this video I show finishing the weaving on the double width double weave blanket and opening it up to show how it's woven in 2 layers with a fold on one side, making a finished cloth twice as wide as woven on the loom.

Fantastic, I am interested how you are handling the colour changes in the weft and weaving in the ends

Thank you so much. Whenever I changed colors I split the ply about 2" before the selvedge and laid one ply in the shed and then tucked the end around the floating selvedge and into the same shed back to where the plies split. The other ply is cut off. This keeps the bulk from building up. Hope this makes sense.

Thank you so much. I personally don't care for fringe on blankets so I will probably do a full damaskus and then bury the warp threads back into the blanket. Then when it's fulled it should lock it together nicely. Thanks for watching ❤️

Thank you so much! Yes you can weave double on a 4-shaft table loom. That was my first attempt and it was successful. You are limited to 2-shaft patterns but there are so many options. You could easily do a log cabin pattern. Thank you for watching.
